[4K Review] NexTool, 2000 lumens and 380m my arse...

My NexTool review. Looks like a Poundstretcher light but does it perform like one?

Surprised this torch + battery does not have more interest from the BLF community given that it competes with the FT03 XHP 50.2.

FYI with current working coupons it’s $US5 cheaper than the Black FT03 + battery, although only comes in 6500k tint….

Drop currently is listing it, currently $30.

Good buy, or MEH?

Charles BridgeTec seems to like it. He wrote “Its a fantastic flashlight, the NexTool has grown on me more and more that I ordered a second one on black Friday.” Lowest price with currently working Banggood coupon is US$32.

The WildTrail BLF D80v2 XHP50.2 (no battery included) is cheaper with one of M4dM4x’s coupons. Both seem to not have many reviews.

BLF D80v2 (XHP50.2) is still quite new, so probably not that many reviews yet.. But can check some beamshots for comparison:

note: Distance from flashlight to opposite building ~ 120 meters / 400 feet.

I just bought this light after seeing the review. Thanks for a very nice review.

It is a nice light, I like it. Here it is next to my Convoy S2+: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Has anyone tried to remove the bezel?

I wonder if it uses a 3V or 6V XHP50.2

It’s a great light, my Grandad is currently using it and he loves it, he’s got a lot of lights to choose from too!

I am not a flashlight expert, actually I am far from it, I just got into this hobby, but I was also thinking that this light is really easy and safe to use by older persons. It comes up on Turbo everytime you press the button (so a lot of light), it came with a battery (I think it is a protected one) and it has a USB-C charging port. And it is bright! I like a lot that it is a combination between throw and flood. This is my brightest flashlight for now, and I got to test it on the countryside (my mother in law lives next to a forest) and this is bright!

Your review made me buy this light right away after I watched it, you have great reviews!

But why plastic instead of glass ?

I ordered one from Banggood, and got lucky to get one of the last three they had available from their USA warehouse. So, it should be arriving by Saturday. That would be this coming Saturday, not the third Saturday in March, LOL.

Anyways. I am excited to be getting my first NexTool torch.

The NexTool is a very well made torch. It feels very solid and smooth, and is rather classy looking.

But, I don’t like that it always comes on in the brightest light level every time it is turned on. No memory. And, I think the O.E. NexTool labled 26650 5000 mAh battery is defective, because the run times are not good. I am guessing it is the cell, because I have not heard any complaints online about run times on this light.

I really like it overall. It will give it to my elderly dad, so he can spot coyotes in the canyon behind his house. He won’t use it a lot, so the battery run times shouldn’t be a problem. It is a very simple, straight forward torch to use, perfect for him.

It’s Charles BridgeTec. He likes everything…

Thanks everybody!

What would be the best battery available from:

Thanks in advance for the input

$$$

I measured mine over 500m throw and 3300lm at start

it has a timed stepdown, it starts with 1:30 min over 3100lm, then starts to throttle down to 1000lm but it takes like 6 min to get to 1000lm. (At 4 min is over 2000lm)

Mode spacing: 33lm/254lm/768lm/3300lm

It has USB C charging and includes a great quality 26650 cell (I have good blue liitokala and the performance and runtimes are the same

the Only drawback is that the lens is plastic instead of glass

The UI is very simple and I really like the switch, it’s like a mix between mechanic and electronic switch

From OFF:
-Half press= momentary on (turbo)
-Full press= constant on (turbo)

From ON:
-Half press = change mode
-Long half press= SOS

I think it’s a great muggle light!

Beware that Charles BridgeTec’s review points out that the battery is protected and IT’S NOT.

I bought the light because I thought that I could use 21700 cells (same length as a protected 26650) but this light cannot accomodate cells longer than 65mm

Just got mine from Drop yesterday. Totally impressed with it so far.
This one is definitely going in the car’s centre-console compartment.

How does this compare to the C8+?

Compared to which C8+ ? (there are various LED options for Convoy C8+, and also other C8 from Astrolux & Sofirn)

Nextool XHP50.2 beamshot

Astrolux C8 (XHP50.2) beamshot

Convoy C8+ (SST40) “ramp driver” variant

Astrolux C8 (XPL-Hi) beamshot

Wainlight C8+ (Osram NM1) beamshot

Amutorch XT45 (SBT90.2) beamshot (not “C8” but head-size is similar to “C8” flashlights)
