[New] Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 Ti

Is there a way to turn Off the Memory feature?

Driver swap

there is also an aluminium version w eSwitch coming:

called Massdrop Vega

I predict a Ti AA w eSwitch will follow

Our pleasure and Merry Christmas!

Question.

Will future regular Tool AA v2.0 get illuminated clicky switches like the tit one?

Does the eSwitch have to be “charged” similarly to the eSwitch of AAA ToolTi?

I would guess yes but with a 14500 installed it should charge faster with the higher voltage. With a AA battery I would assume about the the same time as the AAA.
It should be the same circuit the AAA Tool uses but we’ll have to wait until someone has one in hand to confirm that.
The AAA tool has no current limiting resistor for the Super Cap that I could find. Some have a 1K bleed resistor on the driver that could be limiting charge current but I also have AAA tools that dont have the resistor, just the empty pads where the resistor is supposed to be. I think that since the voltage of a AAA battery is so low its limited by the battery itself. The Drop Vega will take 14500’s so I’m assuming the new switch pcb will have a charge current limiting resistor on it. I got 2 Vegas on order, I’ll post up what I find when they get here. Still waiting on a shipping confirmation.

Why did you change the leds? The new Tool 2.0 shine badly, I already had several pieces :person_facepalming:

Hi Lumintop all,

I would as some other users very much appreciate if this light would have no memory mode, especially since there aren't so many brightness steps anyways, so it wouldn't be so hard to get all the way to the highest output from powering it on.

Another suggestion would be to use a least powerful emitter, at least as an option to choose from, like an XP-E2 or an XP-G2 for example. The current XP-L/2 emitter is way too powerful for the small thermal mass of the body of this light, not to mention it's a titanium build, not copper or aluminum.

Instead of the 6 taps for strobe, I could do without it and take a battery check for 3 clicks. Maybe consider running the Biscotti firmware, as it has quite a few mode groups as well. That would be a great interface for a clicky light. Or maybe even the BLF A6 UI. Both of these UI's have a battery check function and for such a small cell, knowing how much charge is left in it is a must.

As other users mentioned before, the more options, the merrier, so selling some separate pocket clips in various colors, ex. blue, would be great, maybe even different color tail switch rubber caps and why not, pills with different emitter choices and the drivers to suit the power requirements of those emitters (please, again, option to disable the memory)

Cheers! And Happy Holidays!

Holy ...

I surely ordered mine

Tracking says mine just hit the states!!! Hopefully it doesn’t take too much longer to get delivered.

Which place did you order from Lumintoponline or Lumintoplighting?

Ordered the Ti Tool and the FW1A Pro.

Just ordered one myself. Was not aware you could order directly from lumintop. I did find them a little cheaper on eBay, but I wasn’t sure if it was legit or not. So I went with lumintop site.

Has yours been delivered? Initial impressions? Mine is estimated to arrive on Wednesday.

It has, along with the FW1A Pro. Already swapped the Ti body and deep carry clip from my FW3T and added a stainless bezel on the FW1A Pro. Also swapped the black clip instead of the ugly gold, think it matches MUCH better imo.

Was going to swap the Nichia emitter from my daughter’s Tool HM Kit but noticed the heads are different. The Ti Tool head is two pieces, and looks like there is two tabs that hold the pill in place. I tried to see if the pill in the Ti Tool was removable but it didn’t budge and I didn’t want to damage the head tool that came in the kit.

At least they didn’t glue the pieces of the head together. MCPCB looks easily accessible.

Tail cap is not glued either. Removed the lighted button and transparent switch cover also. Used the standard ones from my daughter’s panda Tool. She likes the lighted switch and gold clip better than me anyway.

Besides the head design, the Ti version is identical to the aluminum version.

As soon as mine comes in it’s getting:

It would appear that it's not only Lumintop that has started shifting their XPL-HD flashlights to use XP-L2 LEDs, without informing about the changed specifications. I've also seen one Astrolux S1, which is supposed to use XPL-HD, but that Astrolux S1 now uses XP-L2 (brighter on Turbo mode, but also gets hot much faster than the Astrolux S1 with XPL-HD), plus the XP-L2 has a somewhat worse looking beam pattern..
