Emergency Preparedness

Thank you sir.

Essential oils are great! I use them in my Levoit humidifier. I particularly like Sweet Orange, Lavender, Ecalyptus, Tea Tree…
What oils you use DeputyDade??

Campers and backpackers are way ahead in the prepper game no matter what happens, if we are prepared for living in the outdoors then we can survive in our own homes, kitchen, and bedrooms for awhile, even in the worst of winter.

Being a camper/backpacker also gives us an excuse to buy a lot of prepper stuff that we can justify as camping gear.

I just want to get ready for this! YOu never know...

That is a really alarmist article. The report itself appears to recommend adopting 14 days of food and water as the standard for state and federal individual preparedness campaigns. They say a “catastrophic power outage of a magnitude beyond modern experience” could affect up to 75 million people for 2-6 months, but that’s one step removed from the complete collapse of society, and most people are not going to prep for anything like that. The report is certainly not evidence terrorists are about to take down the United States power grid for half the year.

I use a LOT of different one’s including blends. My personal favorites are Ylang Ylang, Wintergreen and Lemon Grass. I’ve had good success with blends as well:

Yes, yes it does!

You know the old saying, “Those darn zombies aren’t going to kill themselves”.

Kinda cool, I was recently thinking about making a big pelican case filled with emergency stuff in case of an earthquake or flood.

On the ‘old’ SEP board we had a very long running thread on exactly that i.e. BOB’s/GHB’s/EDC’s. Had discussion, links, videos and a wealth of information. That was a popular thread and we’ve started it again.

What is a BOB, GHB or EDC and why would you want one anyway?

As it progresses again it may give you some helpful ideas of what to put in your case.

Wow, what a brave soldier! How much russians did you killed during such action?
Bloody action. Did you risk your life? Bullets whistled over your head?
You do nothing up to time, when USSR collapsed itself. liberator…

Yes I did risk my life, I went back into the military and served in NATO when I saw that Reagan was taking on the Communist empire that had enslaved Poland and so many other peoples, freeing Eastern Europe and Russians from their Communist overlords was a long and deadly process that reached success during the late 1980s early 90s.

I’m proud to see a free Poland, I’m sure we all share happiness in that result.

I have quite a bit of prep gear. Everything from water and MREs to saws, tents, first aid, and hygiene supplies. The only thing I am lacking is a good ham radio. I have limited experience with radios and I don’t know which is best to buy.

There was quite a bit of discussion on various comms on the old board. Hasn’t started yet on the new SEP board but the same guys are on it. The ‘Top Gear’ section covers comms. If you’re interested, register and ask those guys for their input. Their steer you in the right direction.

I registered. I’m waiting for approval.

You are all set sir

Thank you!

Where were you on Sept. 1, 1939?

Wow, you lost it all 3 times and kept trying. Nice ambition DeputyDave! I have to ask though, have you setup automated server backups to prepare for the next server disaster?

@ Hank… Yes, but you will need to buy the rather expensive Busse Combat TGLB INFI knife as used on the Walking Dead to whack them with.

I will join Deputy. Is there going to be a buy/sell/trade topic added also??
