[Poll] *Do You Leave batteries in for all your flashlights?*

Maybe half of my lights are ready to use with full charge batteries and i have a bunch of batteries (pulled from laptop or other appliances battery packs) in stock, some at full charge, some at "storage" level

All my lights have charged batteries. All my AAA lights have lithium primaries.
The stored Li-ION lights are mechanical locked out (if possible).
If not possible (Cu, SS, Ti) I put a small plastic cup under the tailspring.
Only the lights in my rotation are not locked out.

Flashlight’s no use without a cell in it
I don’t keep many lights so all have cells, the ones used infrequently are locked out & partially charged.

I have some 250 lights, all with charged cells in them ready to use. Also have quite a few cells on standby, charged and ready to go. Over 300 cells.

I do. They don’t leak, right?

where dem poll yo?

I kept them in my flashlights cuz I only bought enough for each so no storage boxes

I do the same.

All aa and aaa are loaded… lion (I only have 4) are empty with bats in the same case.

Usually i don’t.
Only the lights i want to use have batteries in them.
I keep my batteries in the refrigerator nowadays.
I usually store them close to discharged.

A few…not all

Phooaaaa, man. That allows you to use only few twice a year

All loaded. LiIon or NiMH. No alkalines.

Old lights have their cells removed and get stored away in a box. Apart from that, just about everything has cells in. There are some spare cells sitting at full charge, and some more sitting at storage voltage.

.
That is new to me. What are the benefits and could you describe your method of storage ?
Thanks :+1:

I have 10 or 12 active, meaning yes they have batteries.
If i am just going to store the light, I will not have batteries in it.

Less chemical action going on when cold.

Apparently Li-ion cells can degrade when they’re kept warm.

Like most have said, stored lights are empty. Lights in EDC rotation have lithium cells in them and are ready to go at a moments notice. Extra cells are stored at room temp.

Box Queens are always empty.

Lights “at the ready” (half-dozen or so daily-use) are always loaded.

Semi-ready, another half-dozen or so stored in a small bag so I don’t lose them, are loaded but locked out. (Usually “special-purpose” lights like the GTs for snooping outside, C8F for portable oomf when a Q8/DC7 would be a bit unwieldy, etc.)

Lots of lights

Everything has a battery in it ..Locked and loaded ,ready to go.

90% of all cells are charged to 100%

maybe 40 18650's sitting at 50%

a few alkalines in lights just to keep life interesting

I have batteries in all flashlights. Every few months I check and charge them. When leaving for vacation I will allow all tails on the flashlights for safety reasons.
