Nitecore Tiki

So, it looks like Nitecore has made a Rovyvon ripoff: https://flashlight.nitecore.com/product/tiki

Thoughts?

Definitely good looking, and very pleasantly surprised by the price.

To be fair, the RovyVon light design isn't that special, in my opinion.

The Nitecore clone looks really nice.

I didn't see a price, though.

If it's much cheaper than RovyVon, then this Nitecore has my vote for small keychain flashlight.

Banggood has it for $20. I think I saw a coupon price that reduces price by a couple of dollars.

Yes, i’ve seen it.
It’s definitely affordable, unlike the pretty Rovyvon lights of similar shape and size.

BUT:

Apparently both the Rovyvon and the Tiki lights have very visible PWM on the lower modes.

I really don’t understand how they both could be so …. (something that is not a compliment).

So i’m not gonna buy one until that’s solved.

.
Another …. thing is that the side LEDs are behind the plastic shell.

That wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t put a 365nm UV LED in there, but that’s exactly what they did…

I thought it was common knowledge that 365nm light does not (or hardly) pass through plastic, but apparently a revered flashlight brand such as Nitecore did not know this.
.

For the rest, the concept is great.

Much better concept than the 10180 twisty keychain lights we’re all quite familiar with, and often not in a good way…

Do you mean the plastic translucent one or all of them?
The metal ones look pretty fancy i.m.o.
But they’re way too expensive i.m.o.

It's on AliExpress and eBay and Amazon as well.

Looks like $20 is the going rate.

I mean, I would call the Nitecore light a clone, not a ripoff.

Though I guess the two mean about the same thing.

Which Rovyvon model is it a clone of?

I’m seeing Rovyvon A1 on Amazon for $20 right now with the current clip coupon.

I think it's a clone of the A1.

The A1 might have been more expensive in the past.

EDIT:

Also, the Tiki is high CRI, and it has at least two different types of light, so it has some advantages.

The A1 is brighter, however.

PWM is a shame, I was really liking it up to that point.

Double click to turn on is what I’ve been asking for from an edc U/I for a long time. Triple click to go straight to aux led works well for me too.

I might just get one at that price, and see how bad the pwm is. Can always be gifted to a non F/A.

Looks very similar to the Rovyvon, but the UI is quite a bit better in the nitecore IMO. Also the price is awesome at only $20 with 1 day prime shipping. I already have an A1 but I’m gonna pick one of these up to compare it to. Thanks

seems interesting but order on banggood u can forget for now…

NOTE about shipping time:
Because the holiday of Chinese Spring Festival is coming, most orders will be shipped in mid-late February. So sorry about this and thanks for your understanding.
Trust me, it is worth your wait, the best hotest new light with this low price.

$20.99 on Amazon… seems reasonable for all the tricks this pony performs.

Double click for low, or click-hold for high. No mode memory then, I guess. If you want a mid-output, apparently you have to start at low and click up.

In the end I will most likely have my good old Tube on my keychain anyway; that’s all I need.

Did you get the Tiki? I’m curious about the PWM too.

dead link.

the PWM is invisible to the naked eye.
don’t know how bad it is on camera, but i cant imagin using a keychain light to film :person_facepalming:

it is the best keychain flashlight i have used so far, especially for the 14 Euro i payed at the time of its launch.

Thanks. The video on Nitecore’s website showed a pretty bad PWM, and a couple of reviews I read said it was very noticeable. It sounds like they have fixed it.

Which link?
