Yes, i’ve seen it.
It’s definitely affordable, unlike the pretty Rovyvon lights of similar shape and size.
BUT:
Apparently both the Rovyvon and the Tiki lights have very visible PWM on the lower modes.
I really don’t understand how they both could be so …. (something that is not a compliment).
So i’m not gonna buy one until that’s solved.
.
Another …. thing is that the side LEDs are behind the plastic shell.
That wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t put a 365nm UV LED in there, but that’s exactly what they did…
I thought it was common knowledge that 365nm light does not (or hardly) pass through plastic, but apparently a revered flashlight brand such as Nitecore did not know this.
.
For the rest, the concept is great.
Much better concept than the 10180 twisty keychain lights we’re all quite familiar with, and often not in a good way…
Looks very similar to the Rovyvon, but the UI is quite a bit better in the nitecore IMO. Also the price is awesome at only $20 with 1 day prime shipping. I already have an A1 but I’m gonna pick one of these up to compare it to. Thanks
seems interesting but order on banggood u can forget for now…
NOTE about shipping time:
Because the holiday of Chinese Spring Festival is coming, most orders will be shipped in mid-late February. So sorry about this and thanks for your understanding.
Trust me, it is worth your wait, the best hotest new light with this low price.
$20.99 on Amazon… seems reasonable for all the tricks this pony performs.
Double click for low, or click-hold for high. No mode memory then, I guess. If you want a mid-output, apparently you have to start at low and click up.
Thanks. The video on Nitecore’s website showed a pretty bad PWM, and a couple of reviews I read said it was very noticeable. It sounds like they have fixed it.
I got the Tiki LE and found that the PWM isn’t noticeable at all to these old eyes. This looks like it could be it for me for a pocket keychain flashlight. I was using the Ultratac K18 which I like overall except that it kept getting unlocked in my pocket and running the battery down.
Does anyone have pics of this compared to a TIP? How is the beam and brightness compared to it? I currently have the TIP, but I would prefer something a little smaller to have in my pocket if the light is as useful.
The TIKI is ALMOST my perfect tiny edc light. I have actually added a pocket clip (stolen from a maglite solitaire), cut down the keychain loop to add a magnet, so that it can now also tail stand, and I polished the “window” for the AUX leds. Only a few changes would make this literally my ideal tiny EDC.
1. Slightly longer in order to have a bit higher capacity, basically like the updated A8x (it has 330mAh but I would want ~350)
2. .5 lumen instead of 1 lumen ultra-low/moonlight
3. low/high modes for the high CRI light
4. Clip (similar to the A8x)
5. Slightly longer stepdown from Turbo (~1.5 minutes, but I think ~2 should be doable if we have a slightly larger light for the capacity increase and therefore more for heat dissipation)
Since it’s a keychain light I would be fine with having to modify it to add a magnet on the tail again, so I wouldn’t expect that change. Other than Moonlight the current mode spacing is perfect, and there is no need to change the main emitter or modes. 300 stepping down to 120 (maybe 150?) is perfect.
So Nitecore, if you read this, Please come out with a Tiki 2! I would buy a few of them!
