I really don’t want to contradict Jacky(about no coating)….butt this full brass thing hasn’t patina’d a tinker’s danm.
Ordered 8/24 and handled and massaged as I do with patinable lights most every day.
At this point, I have to declare it COATED until I try and remove its unnatural block to achieving uniqueness.
Has anyone else noted any patina on their full brass E07?
One I have seems to be getting darker. Wife has only used it a couple of times, mostly it just sits on her night stand. It’s nothing like the copper ones I’ve got, but it does seem to be changing slowly.
The other is in the box still, and of course it’s still shiny.
It’s definitely not coated because the ones I have that are that are coated you can see/feel they are. My brass one is going duller as I use it (brass doesn’t tarnish as fast as copper) - also after handling it for a while, you can smell the copper/brass smell on your hand.
I sent my Copper E07 to the US facility over a month ago after it broke and I have not received any word of anything yet. I have tried emailing Jacky and have not heard back.
Now my Brass E07 is completely dead too.
What is going on with this? Is anyone having such a bad experience as me? Has anyone heard from Jacky recently?
I just heard back from Jacky. I will be sending him a video and hopefully he will be checking up on the status of my Copper E07. I will update as this is dealt with.
WRONG! This sucker looks like day one….BLING! I really love the machining/polish of the body, just not the coating.
I also inquired of FF to ensure I wouldn’t have to remove any coating in order to allow the natural patina of an EDC tool rather than a shelf queen sheen. Well, now I have to use harsh measures to remove what was promised not to be. I used acetone in the past and screwed the pooch by letting the light soak in the stuff……WRONG! It dissolved the switch cover and other internals.
“Robert” and myself would appreciate pointers on how to safely fix what was not supposed to be necessary.
*I sent my copper E07 back to Jacky in the US address for fixing because 3 things were broken and wrong and I am still being ghosted by him. I repeatedly messaged and emailed FF and Jacky, and always got ghosted. 2 years at this point and over $100 down the toilet. DON'T BUY FIREFLIES OR ANY OF THEIR NEW BRAND THEY ARE A BAD COMPANY *
