Sofirn C01R deep red [sold out, discontinued]

What’s the purpose, other than “Ahhh, nice deep red…” ?

I have a SingFire 348 with a 660nm fake XP-E in it (and also yellow, cyan, 395nm, 365nm, Nichia blue pump (by accident…)).

It is a very nice color, but other than that…

For me I never had and always wanted a red light flashlight. I want to test the night vision out. Most out now seemed quite weak. I’m referring to keychain lights though. Anywho I’m no red led pro but I presume this light will output a good amount of red light?

It allows one to see short distances while preserving night vision. Useful for getting around in the dark and not disturbing anyone else sleeping.

A bit late to the party, hopefully not too late!

At the expected (9-11 USD) price point, I am interested in two deep red and two red, all four with wine red host anodization.

Thanks!

Please add me to the list for two deep red. Thanks!

Not remotely... :-) As far as I am informed, Sofirn has not fully resumed operations yet, due to COVID-19. I've been told that fortunately none of their staff has been encountered with the virus but as many other manufacturers they are dependent on suppliers of which some have not been allowed to resume business yet. I assume C01R is considered a low priority with regard to Sofirn's overall sales strategy. In a nutshell, I believe there's still some time left before selling will commence. However, since this is a small-size batch of a slightly revised C01S (with a finetuned driver) I'm optimistic that Sofirn will manage to put this product in between of their next C01S batch production.

Moreover, I see a good chance that Sofirn will not artificially limit the lot size to a very small amount of only 300-400 pcs or at least that they will consider producing a second batch. I could imagine that C01R has the potential to create a considerable demand by (Chinese) authorities like police, military or (aero)space divisions and lab technology. It's only a matter of good advertising.
