Group Buy Now Live - BLF GT90 SBT-90.2 powered 5,000 Lumen, 1.8Mcd / 2600m Super Thrower

I’m holding out for the GT4.

That’s a bit annoying considering it’s not cheap.

hm that would drive me insane havin the gt90 so way off centre…

1: Good to hear they are arriving
2: This change tot he carrier is to improve current carrying since it needs to handle 30A vs the 3A-10A of the prior versions.
3: That is a very strange issue, All the others I have seen have been aligned the same as the GT70.

As someone who bought several GT70’s I can tell you the printing varied (even the font size) and the feeling of the metal and anodizing varied. These factories are not super consistent.

Would it be worth the hassle to contact nealsgadgets and request a replacement? This is definition a quality control issue. Other than this flaw, everything else about the light looks good.

You can try to request one. The shipping boxes for these is not the best and a couple lights arrived damaged where that part of the light was severely dented requiring replacement. If you have a strap wrench, pliers and vice it’s not too hard to replace.

This would be a lumintop issue, not a Neal issue as Neal would of got the light like this, he would of known about it.

You can contact lumintop and request a replacement but I think that while they might agree to this a more favorable outcome for both of you might be something along the lines of a free small light from them to make up for the mistake for example. This will be a lot less costly and simpler / easier for everyone.

I can’t speak for them though, just tossing out an idea that might work better then a flat replacement. Be aware that they are closed for the next few weeks, so realize it could take some time to get a reply and you might need to send another message in a few weeks.

What's inside your boxes? Mine only came with some spare O-rings.. no manual, no nothing.

Strange it should of come with a manual but that is about it besides the light itself/ Sure you checked under all the foam? You can download the manual from the GT70 thread, it uses the same firmware.

Yep mine came with manual and spare oring.
My etching is off center as well, I didn’t
notice until you mentioned it. I’m ok with it.
At least it was double boxed, great choice.

What a beast, what a beam. I need a bigger yard. :+1:

Same here, content was all there and was double boxed.

My GT90 has arrived

Received mine today. Same text alignment but not that bothered. The VTC6 cells are charging very slowly and my new C4-12 charger and old C4 both think most cells have pretty high resistance. The button tops have a white plastic surround. Strangely the resistance seems to vary a lot from cell to cell 50, 200, 500, 800. The old charger measures my other VTC6 flat tops at around 20-30mOhm.

When did you get shipping notification and was it by DHL ? mines still in china with a message “Awaiting collection by recipient as requested” I received shipping notification from Neal on the 18th but its still stuck in china since with the same message……… REALLY hope it’s not hijacked and just lazy scanners and its still on the way….

Mine was shipped via yunexpress who handed it off to some local carrier who then passed it on to my local mail service. It went via air to Amsterdam then I think on a truck/ships to Western Finland this morning and then onwards on a truck. Lots of quiet periods in the tracking. I got shipping notification on 16.1, the package was moving immediately and left via Hong Kong on 18.1.

With luck the batteries will be charged quicker than the shipment time.

I had the same, but taking the batteries out and putting them back in a few times worked for me. Ressistance was every time different and when under ± 80 I left them in……Charged at around 1.5 ampere then.

At my light the led isn’t centered perfectly. Its well visible on a wall or ceiling shot. I believe for the throw it doesn’t make much different if i remember right? Anyone who can confirm this? Is it difficult to recenter the led for a handy unexperienced in modding me?

Anyone else have a small ‘lump’-like deformity in the GT90 reflector? I don’t think it is doing much to the beam (maybe 1/500 of the area) but interested if it’s a one-off or common.

This can happen on reflectors of this size. It is exponentially more difficult to make reflectors as the size goes up.

This was first noticed in the GT a few years ago and tested to have basically no effect on overall performance.

Thanks, appreciate the perspective.
