[Review] Acebeam W30 LEP 21700 flashlight

Shadows? We don’t need no stinkin’ shadows. I don’t have pictures. This light (4000K) will add to direct sunlight well past 100 ft. I’ll do some experiments on a good sunny day on various objects to see how far out the light is still visible. edit. In case it’s not clear, this will allow you to see into holes day or night.

Thanks. I don’t have much experience with 1.anything million cd.

Is the 4000K the dimmest or is the HCRI the dinmest?

How do you like the tint?

Acebeam W30 4000K at Noon - YouTube Noon time W30 4000K. This video convinced me that I need it. And the video doesn’t really do it justice. It’s better in real life. I got it to look down into drilled water wells and shallow wells looking through 2 to 15 feet of water to the bottom. Sometimes the water is not crystal clear. I figured the 4000K would reflect less light back off of whatever material is causing the water to be turbid and get less reflection back off of the water surface in a shallow well. I’m very happy with it. I don’t know how it compares to the 6500K and the high CRI. I’ve had it about a month and I still haven’t gone out at night in a place where I can let it stretch its legs more than 1000 feet other than into the sky.

Thanks! Is it really that green?

I just received mine couple days ago and it’s WOW.
I’ve got some throwers (includind DEFT-X) but this light takes a cake.
Luckily light diffuser was included and that enables it’s use as normal torch.

Acebeam announced in November that it has been discontinued. You can still find some models out there for sale at higher prices but those may be gone soon if they are not still producing this model. Apparently do to parts supply problems.

Absolutely love the W30vn I so kindly received from Vinh. So ridiculous, its just funny.

Not much buzz about LEP flashlights for some reason.

What modifications did Vinh make to the light?

Some performance, and some aesthetic.

Performance wise he was able to boost my copy, 520 Lumen, 2Mcd, and 2828m throw stated on his certification card.

Aesthetically received the AHC bezel, looks like heated titanium.

Did you test the actual throw numbers? I would like to know if mine is just underperforming. Mine hits 1.31 Mcd.. but it is supposed to hit the 1.4mcd+

I measured three W30 High CRI at 30 meters.

#1: 921 kcd
#2: 866 kcd
#3: 1086 kcd

I measured them at 310-320 lumens, so if the low CRI version is 500 lm as advertised (doubt it), it would have done 1350-1700 cd.

Thanks! So you actually had 3 W30's? Wow.

I have the 6500K and is supposed to throw 1450Kcd / 1.45Mcd, but it doesn't reach that.

I have the feeling that these things can be all over the place. Each sample of an LEP flashlight can vary many %.. more than a usual LED flashlight.

I have 3 6500k and the tint is noticably different in 1

Those three high CRI ones also had wildly varying tints.

Any idea why? The laser cant really change so it has to be the phoshpor.

I would guess the phosphor and focusing. To get it right needs extremely tight tolerances.

The lens does not look good quality. But would that cause the tint to shift? Maybe that has something to do with it being discontinued.

Ye it is.I swapped the Cometa lens to a original Zaxman, and there is a tint shift.

Leds have a very long life. How many hours of opperation are expected with this LEP?
