Well, no. The risk of death is significantly different.
The difference is where in the respiratory system the virus is able to attach to cells and reproduce.
Common colds don’t generally lead to pneumonia.

It depends on who is telling the truth and who isn't. There still seems to be a lot of confusion as to what is really going on at the moment. I think we will all get a better idea in a couple of weeks times, which by then maybe everything calms down again. In other countries there are no deaths reported but there are in China. Based on the numbers so far, there should have been deaths already outside China, but there aren't and people seem to be recovering ok.
I'm taking an extra week vacation because that just sounds brilliant .
Everyones' reaction to the news of Coronavirus will be different ....
I don’t put much stock in Business Insider, but I’ll share a chart that it compiled, and trust they got the data correct:
For comparison, more than 36,000 people died in traffic accidents in the U.S. in 2018.
An estimated 15 million people in the U.S. have been infected with the flu this season, and 8,200 have died.
More data revealing “corona beer virus” as a trending search term points to the probability that the human race will be ultimately be doomed not be disease, but by stupidity.

I have read that the virus is more dangerous for East Asians because they have more ACE2-expressing cells.
I’m not an expert, but the WHO may also be afraid that when this virus is widespread there is more chance that it will mutate into a more deadly variant?

That. and also the fact the Chinese government has massively under-quoted the numbers and the WHO knows it
The moment when all media goes mute is the moment when you really need to start worrying. Until then I recommend to start watching some dystopic virus movies...
My top ten list:
This is nothing compared to a future super volcano, making volcanic winter and megadroughts. That happened only 75.000 years ago, when humans almost went extinct with barely 2000 to 10.000 humans left on whole earth. Like a small village, and we all originate from that group of humans. Genetic research has proven that. Earths population will stabilise in 30-40 years on 11 billion. A super volcano will for sure strike again, then, it will be the total apocalypse.
This is useful
The spread of the coronavirus is likely to impact significantly on UK importers and consumers, warns the international courier services expert ParcelHero.
I found this on the Austrian health agency webpage:
(used Google translate)
Can the corona virus be transmitted from China through merchandise?
There is no evidence that merchandise poses a risk. The cases diagnosed so far indicate close contact with sick people as a source of infection. Exactly how long the virus remains on surfaces is unclear. If you cough or sneeze in your hand and then touch a doorknob or touch your phone and pass it on, the virus can be transmitted in this way. But half an hour later, according to the World Health Organization, that should no longer be a problem.
the number of cases within China has accelerated, far surpassing the rate of new SARS cases in 2003
Here’s what early research says about how the pathogen behaves and the factors that will determine how far it will spread.
Early indications suggest the mortality rate for this virus is considerably less than another coronavirus, MERS, which kills about one in three people who become infected, and SARS, which kills about one in 10. All of the diseases appear to latch on to proteins on the surface of lung cells, but MERS and SARS seem to be more destructive to lung tissue. As of Jan. 31, fewer than one in 40 of the people with confirmed infections had died. Many of those who died were older men with underlying health problems.
Precautionary measures[from filth]!! HAIKELITE HT70.
I think my HT70 had the coronavirus,or was it just shoddy work?
Looks like they did not have enough solder paste, flashback from my TN32 where the LED burnt. Thrunite/Illumns took care of me immediately.
Just got it today.Did not even use 2 minutes and I notice smoke under the lens! One of the LEDS burnt.
I EXPECT a Full refund for a DEFECTIVE product. If not, PAYPAL dispute!
Photo right after it happened. Chemical film is noticeable under lens.
I have been on this forum for a long time but I don’t make many posts, just try to learn from the more experienced. I saw this on the Smart News app on my phone over lunch and with all the paranoia going on with the Coronavirus be careful what you open on your computer or phones.
Coronavirus Can Also Infect Your PCs and Phones — Didn’t Expect This, Did You!
A Kaspersky report has revealed that PDFs, documents and videos being shared as Coronavirus preventives are actually trojans and malware in disguise.

I think it probably drank too much alcohol.
