GT mini Pro

I found pictures of GT mini PRO on Facebook:

Emitter: Cree XHP50.2 LED
Flux: >3500 Im
Intensity: >57,753cd (ANSI throw >480m)
Firmware: Tom E’s open-source NarsilM v1.2

Driver
29.5W, 9A FET driver with conversion efficiency
that exceeds 90%. Parasitic drain while OFF is-27 uA.

Weight: 150g without cells
Dimensions: 50 mm Ø head x132 mm length

I wish they had replaced the rubber switch with something better.

Not that interesting to me. Was expecting a white flat when I saw the word “Pro”. Seems like it’ll be a good light but not for me.

So is Pro going to be new moniker for when Lumintop switches the LED to a XHP50.2?

Seems that way.

Can’t find anything on it. The flat white would be awesome in this platform. Maybe in an FT03 also. Might have to make one myself. Also whish the 3v 50.2 would come in some warmer tints.

So they changed the emitter and switched to a textured reflector and called it “pro”…is that all they did or am I missing something?

Unno, that’s what it seems like.

Lot more lemons, but also a bigger hotspot.

Intensity gets watered-down per unit area with the bigger die, but I’m guessing that’s where the amped-up number of lemons comes in, to make up for it.

Unno. The regular ’mini kicks arse, so dunno if I’d “need” a high-strung version of it to throw a bigger disc of light downstream.

Exactly my thought. Not sure how that constitutes as “pro” imo. “Pro” to me somewhat indicates things like stronger builds, beefed up output/performance, better quality parts, or even slight modifications to the form factor (more tactical looking/feel, different body for alternate larger capacity cells) improved waterproofing, etc.

I like the ’mini and ’micro as-is, so I’m not complaining about the æsthetics or anything. In fact, I quite like them.

Even the button (“too rubbery”, “only half-lit”, etc.) doesn’t bother me.

So… yeah, I’m not sure what a “pro” version brings to the table.

the switch is awful if the same… i like the light but the mushy switch is some of the worst of all my lights…

and why does it have OP reflector ? Not sure this makes much sense to me why call it pro? the emitter needs a far bigger reflector imo…

i already have the astrolux ft03 with xhp50.2 so this light im not sure why they even made, did someone ask for it? havent seen any thread that they were gonna make on…

Just a guess would be to (try to) smooth out a crappy corona, tint-shift, hole/cross, other nasty artifacts from the new chip if they’re introduced.

This light with a sliced XHP50.2 would be great IMO. Should be >3200 lumens and ~130kcd at 16A. Of course that is not thermally sustainable, but it would make a nice compact high output thrower.

For the record I have been using some 3V XHP50.2 from kaidomain. They are the 1D tint which they don’t carry anymore, but it turns out really nice when sliced. Nice neutral tint and a bit warmer than a Cree 3D. The corona is of course a bit greenish as you’d expect with the flip chip and side-phosphor, but to me it is not a big deal.

I wish a new BLF-GT MIDI, like the size of the Astrolux FT03.
With sbt 90.2 emitter would be awesome.

I like the ergonomics on mine. I have installed W2 in it and it’s much better than xpl hi.
But i’ll swap for W1 for more current/output.

W2 can get angry blue mortal color if IMR’s are used.

sbt90.2 in the ni40 is a little similar

yeah shame they just did a light not many care for…

Definitely leaves you wondering. I’m just really confused as to why they thought calling it a “pro” version was appropriate here.

’Cause “millennium edition” would be kinda dated?

Sounds like my kind of light.
