***EDIT Combining the two threads only makes sense . here's info on the diffusion film as well .

2 - 3 " x 6" sheets of "The Famous Dc-Fix" shipped to your door only $3.50

Add $1.50 for extra sheets

+$1.50 - international shipping

Dc-fix will take a really bad beam and turn it into soft buttery smooth delight with amazingly low light loss (3.2% ) I've found myself using more and more diffuser film to soften artifacts ,cancel out ugly rings and create a floody smooth beam . If you've wanted to try it ...

PM me with your address,...hit my paypal and I'll ship you some. Thanks !

- materials available are:

#1- The original Dc-fix single sided adhesive . 3% loss...Selfbuilt on CPF measured it at only 3% loss..Great stuff ****
#2- ///Sold out/// (#2 and #3 are almost the same )about the same thickness as #1 little different pattern ..still more of a frosted ****
#3- Single sided (pattern on just one side and smooth on the other) non adhesive a little thicker than dc fix , pattern is a fine frosted . This film has the least amount of diffusion and still produces a softly diffused beam which leaves some hotspot . Very popular !!!! ****
#4- Fairly rigid. double sided ,non-adhesive, about the thickness of a playing card, can be used to make removable lens cap type diffusers****
#5- :) FREE ...a non adhesive thin material that flattens out the beam so it can be positioned horizontally or vertically . my thoughts are use as a bike light to spread out the beam left and right and cutting off beam that needlessly blinds oncoming traffic.***FREE -> added to every sale !!
#6-///Sold out // non adhesive double sided pattern that is about twice as thick as Dc fix . flexible ****
#7- Non adhesive double sided very fine frosting similar to #2 but more flexible .works great 4 stars****
#8- Thickness is close to #4 no adhesive ,two sided (pattern on both sides) a little bit better than original number 4 ....****
#9- " " Same but different /two sided non adhesive " " " .... ****
#10- Same thickness but different pattern /two sided non adhesive " " " .... ****
#11- Same but different /two sided non adhesive " " " .... ****
#12- Close to same thickness but again a different pattern and different diffusion
#13- ////Sold out ////
#14- One sided - non adhesive / slightly thicker than a playing card **
#15- Solid white sheet better suited to a shade than a diffuser

Diffuser film is rated 1-5 stars according to how much I personally like it .:) *****
Dc-fix and Diffusion film is still available in this thread as well .>> https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/35838

Maybe someone could beam shots of various leds

Here is a few : Various LEDs with LEE minus green filters - Album on Imgur

Compared with Sunlike SOL 4000K 99CRI, tested here (not the same sample), It’s a COB in a light-bulb, compared to the sun it appears very neutral.

flashlights and LEDs compared in this order :

Thrunite TH20 XP-L V6 NW
YLP Unicorn 1.0 LH351D 4000K 90CRI
Wurkkos FC11 LH351D 5000K 90CRI
Fireflies PL47G2 SST-20 4000K 95CRI tint bin FA3
Zebralight H600fc mkIV XHP 50.2 4000K 90CRI
Eagletac TX25C2 XM-L2 U2 NW
YLP Panda3R XP-L HI 4000K (throw emitter)
YLP Panda3R XP-G3 4000K (flood emitter)

Note that that there is some color banding in the album view, zooming or opening the pics in full removes it.

Amazing that last pic with the xpg-3 in the panda /.... simply adding a 1/8th minus filter sheet some great pics

take the time to go thru thefreemans pics here >> https://imgur.com/a/fxQOlYg

I sent a PM. Does anyone know how to affix the filter to the outside of the lens? I want to use some on a Wurkkos FC11, I can get that one apart and put filter behind the lens. But what about on lights you can’t get apart?

no.1 has sticky adhesive.

  • You could find an object that’s a similar shape as the lens and use that to draw a circle on the paper for the adhesive.
  • Use scissors to cut a circle.
  • Try to position the circle on the lens without removing the paper cover for the adhesive to see if it fits.
  • Cut it down a little more until it fits.
  • Wipe the lens with a microfibre cloth to get rid of finger smudges or dust,l.
  • Remove the paper from the film.
  • Stick the film to the lens.
  • Press any bubbles out.

That’s the approach I used. There might be easier an easier way.

I assume mbp is talking about the color filter rather than the diffuser, personally I used tiny amount of glue from a glue stick around the edge. It works ok but a water resistant glue might be better.

I tried using 3 small dots of super glue to attach a minus green filter to dc-fix 1. It left some ugly marks on the filter and bezel.

I also tried Elmer’s Clear glue and that didn’t hold.

Are there other suitable glues?

I wonder would it be possible to install with a bit of water between the film and the glass, similar to some smartphone protective films?

Manker E14III NW with #F1 1/8 minus green filter:

Green almost completely gone on low.
It doesn’t look green on Medium/High/Turbo now. :+1:

Glad I could help ...

No one wants a green light except maybe the Green Lantern .
