Anything better than the Catapult V6 at $59.00?

Sorry I missed that you need it in a short time.

Let’s see if others have better options.

Actually, I just ordered it! Thanks! Got it for $36.00 US dollars total! Wow! Thanks!!!
I plan on buying a 26650 for it. Does it require a flat top or button top? Doesn’t matter?
Thanks for your help!!!

I wouldn’t recommend button top. Doesn’t make good contact which makes the spring get quite hot on mine. Flat tops work fine. Shockli 5500 is recommended for the SST40.

Great…

As mentioned by Th588, Shockli Black 5500mah Flat Top is the best cell for FT03 SST40…

Most Excellent! Thanks!

Of the Catapult V6, FT03 (any variety), k30gt and Nightwatch NI40 (sbt90), I gotta say the NI40 is really hard to beat. It’s my current favorite for the size and performance. Something you can easily put into a pocket and feels great in the hand.

I generally would recommend the FT03 otherwise for the value and usb charging (albeit it’s a larger light).

If you use the light for extended periods as opposed to quick short bursts, pay attention to regulation. The Catapult V6 uses a constant current boost driver and will have consistent output regardless of battery voltage. FET driven lights like the FT03 will only reach max output when the battery is full, and output will gradually decrease as battery voltage drops.

Curious what issues you had with Thrunite that prompted you to return the light.

I have a Convoy C8 with Richards Boost driver pushing an XHP-35 HI at 2.3A, fantastic set-up!

Got the time to build one of them for me?

Thrunite’s customer service is ill. So both lights that I received came from individuals in the US. Later, I asked to return one of mine. They told me to mail it to someone else in the US. Gave me a name/address of another person. To make a long story short, I was shipping mine to a guy who purchased a new one but was about to inherit mine. So I found him on Facebook. Sent him a message and then we spoke over the phone. He was furious with Thrunite’s practice as was myself.
I kept asking them for an official “return center” and they kept telling me to return my lights “as new” to other customers. I wasn’t about to.
I finally got them to send me an official “Thrunite” return place. Never again. Done with them. Never heard of such a thing.
That’s when I opted out and bought my Sofirn Q8… in love!!!

Just ordered a “black” Shockli 26650 5500mAh Flat Top Rechargeable battery. Hopefully it will arrive around the same time as my Astrolux. Thanks everyone!

I’m thinking about doing my first mod with the C8. Will keep that in mind.

I’ve had quite a few Thrunite lights and gifted more. Some of those people have also purchased more lights. I had one warranty issue, as did a friend. They were handled perfectly. In fact, better than I expected. Sorry to hear yours wasn’t.

I’ve just never heard of such a thing. I asked to return my item, and they tell me to ship it to another customer who just purchased mine. I was WTH.
When I explained it to the guy who would be getting my light, he was upset. We both let Thrunite know how we felt about that.

That’s a huge privacy issue. I would be livid.

That’s the wild part. When I called the guy in NJ who was going to recieve my “used” Catapult V6 as “new”, shipped directly from myself… he was pissed. He asked “how did you find me?”. I said “Thrunite”.

I was also given a personal residential address in PA to send my return to. I just thought it was a US customer rep.

And what really did it for me was the fact that my two ThruNite lights came from two different people in the US as well. Returns, that they were asked to mail to me.
I knew by the packaging, etc… Not happy with that practice in anyway. I disputed it with Thrunite via email and chat and they don’t think it’s wrong at all.
Weird. So I walked away from them, and went with Sofirn and couldn’t be happier.

On one evening this weekend I used 4 Thrunite lights. A headlamp and flashlight for my own activities, and 2 more as nightlights for the kids. I’m using some of them every day. I own or have gifted many other Thrunite lights. Just gifted 2 more at Christmas. They’ve been my go to brand for their quality/service/price ratio.

As I was using them I thought of this post. It made me sad. I can’t support a company creating this kind of privacy breach, let alone service issue. I plan to contact them for an explanation.
