Coronaviruses, such as SARS and MERS, have been found to persist on inanimate surfaces — including metal, glass or plastic surfaces — for as long as nine days if that surface had not been disinfected, according to research published earlier this month in The Journal of Hospital Infection.
Over the weekend I heard from a source I have in the scientific community that a lab in the UK has identified a vaccine for the virus but it will take six months for trials to be completed.
Six months is extremely fast. And if it passes the trials, production takes another few months unless they take the gamble producing it parallel to the trials in anticipation of succes.
Italy is starting to get deaths now… several dead im reading people buy alot of food and putting on masks because of fear…
Really bad now. 155 cases in Italy. And the deaths are rising just as expected.
Italy 3 dead, 155 infected
South Korea 6 dead, 602 infected
Japan 1 dead, 146 infected
Iran 8 dead, 43 infected
There is no evidence that the infection would subside, or that it would become less severe over time.
Italy starts to shut down cities, scools etc
stores are sold out of desinfectant and gloves, masks etc
also other supply as people start to prepare for some hard days
even the famous Carnival of venice is cancelled!
in Austria there is advice not to go to italy atm....
just hours ago the austrian railways stopped a train in italy before entering Austria because 2 sick people are on it!!
For those who want a comparison, here’s the European influenza news site.
tl/dr, flu is still worse than Coronavirus, and precautions are the same for both.
On that chart, China only shows 2 deaths from the virus today. If the numbers are not fudged, then experts who have studied variations of the corona virus for decades are right in that it will run it's course fairly rapidly like it appears to be doing right now.
chinese president said, that its the worst health crisis since 1949…and worst virus of viruses known before….of course he said nothing about his blame for the situation…well…
