My Missing LT1

Here is the latest communication with Sofirn and my reply:

This seems like a reasonable offer to me. The lantern is $82.9 at Amazon so 99% off means that you would pay 83 cents to have the lantern shipped by Amazon. Probably get it a lot faster from Amazon than from Sofirn’s store in China.

Plus shipping, for something I have paid for.

Shipping should be free from Amazon since it’s over $25.

Just going by what the offer said:

He does have a point. Shipping isn’t free until he buys other stuff with it.

That’s stated as a question rather than a statement. It’s easily seen that there is no shipping just by going through the check-out process prior to actually purchasing the lantern and choosing the free shipment option. This is what I get when I did that. I didn’t have a code of course which is why the amount shows as $82.99. Your choice of course but I stand by what I said that it’s a reasonable offer to get it from Amazon rather than China.

That’s not how Amazon works in my experience especially with items Fulfilled by Amazon. See my comment right above this one.

This issue has been going on for going on almost 3 months and I’m still waiting for Sonfirn’s response.

It’s not free shipping unless your cart is above $25 or have Amazon prime. If he’s just getting the lantern for $0.83 he’ll have to pay $5.99 for shipping. Try it on an item less than $25 if you don’t believe me.

$7 bucks to put an end for the 3 months wait would seem like the most obvious thing to do. Things do go wrong with shipping sometimes.

My experience on items I’ve bought with a discount code has been that the non-discounted price determines if it’s above the $25 threshold. Has your experience been different? Items below $25 would not qualify of course.

If send me the 99% off code I will buy an LT1 and have it shipped to your home. Just PM me if you are interested, include your address.

I guess I misread the thread.

From what you posted in 10736 it seems that Sofirn would give you a code if you wanted one to buy it from Amazon. Have you asked Zoe for one?

whopist are you not in the US, and thats why there is a shipping issue, or you just dont have amazon prime to get the 2 day shipping.

Yes Zoe offered me the discount but I declined it and ask for a replacement light.

I live in the US and just guilty of being the one percent that did not get his.

First of all, I do appreciate that someone at Sofirn is trying to remedy the situation and I do sympathize with any problems Sofirn is likely experiencing due to the CV situation, but unfortunately I don’t find the 99% discount offer a satisfactory solution (though I would begrudgingly accept it, personally, if shipping were free).

Asking a customer who has already waited months to spend their time and money, even at a huge discount, to order yet another light is not a fair solution to the customer. Either:

  1. Find a way to deliver a lantern from your Amazon supply at zero cost to the customer and preferably without asking them to place another order. Spring for the fast shipping; the customer deserves as much.
  2. If the customer originally ordered the bare lantern, offer the 99% discount on the LT1+batteries kit, which was in stock at Amazon last I checked. The batteries would be complimentary for the delay.
  3. Ship the lantern DHL from China.
  4. Give a full refund and a new coupon to order from Amazon with an extra discount.

My lantern took a long time and disappeared from tracking for most of that time, but it did arrive. What happened to the extra contact that we had at Sofirn just for this Group Buy? Sofirn should have let her see this thing to completion.

I don’t know whether Amazon would honor free shipping with the 99% discount, but there’s no way that I would pay shipping again on top of what I’ve already paid for the original lantern + shipping. There will be plenty of opportunities to get an LT1 for the Group Buy price, so it would be better to receive a full refund and simply order again.
