Just curious, where can i find a replacement driver for the Wildtrail D80v2? (I have one with a faulty driver, (only glows & flickers dimly)

I would try to pm tatasal to see if he can set you up with a free one or at the very least a good source.

Actually i managed to fix the driver, found a cold solder junction on the FET. :smiley:

@DBSAR
That`s awesome news. :beer:

Code for d80v2 pls

Bit of a necro but thought this might be useful for someone.

Mode groups image courtesy of DB Custom (ignore the arrow). As mentioned already in this thread, default is mode group 12.

Below is info on how to interpret the groups (from TA’s driver thread ).

+1 to this. I don’t mind if the tube is a bit bigger - in fact, it would be preferable.

Just wondered, for the no-ano folks, how did you get on with cleaning up / deburring the battery tube? Or did you just leave it alone?

I polished mine with a rotary tool and some aluminium polish.

I know djozz posted his pic earlier, but this is the best look'n MCPCB I've ever seen. It's worth another take:

If anyone is interested in an inexpensive holster or pouch for the D80v2: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32490680742.html Works well - about an inch of space at the bottom, but does not detract from usefulness. The elastic keeps the light in place very well.

Congratulations Wildtrail BLF D80… you have been the first BLF light to RUIN, and destroy THREE, i repeat… three ( 3) good 18650 cells, by draining them unexpectedly to 0.002 volts. This is the first BLF light i will throw in the trash. :rage: :cry: I have never been so disappointed in a custom light as this one… I do not want this to b the last light to fail me at the end of my painful life.

That’s quite surprising! I assume this was while the light was left running?

If you’re up for it, I’d pay to ship it here for a driver swap (something with LVP, maybe) rather than let it see the trash. IMO the design is beautiful, but I never picked one up.

Nope, it sat turned off, but drained 3 cells dead. i don’t know if it was a shorted switch or shorted driver, I had originally thought the first two cells i put in it was defective, but the third was the end of the line. This light was used as a back-up, but it killed 3 cells even with the tail cap left loose. its now sitting in this weeks trash bag to go. Done with it. Adios.
