CRI is sold out anyways and who wants XPG3 ?

thanks for the dealspotting

my impressions
these lights have a programmable firefly that I enjoy

the only light I know, that goes as low as the E02, is my Jetbeam RRT-01

I bought the Nichia 219c version… it lives in my bathroom.
I dont love the LED, but at firefly levels, I lose my color vision, so it hardly matters

I have not found a use for the 90 degree feature, I dont wear a headband
they are built thicker, and heavier, than some aaa lights, I have not carried mine

the button is easy to find and even without the clip installed, the light wont roll off the nightstand…

the price is right, the LED can be modded, disassembly info here:

if you “need” (want) a host, with a programmable firefly, that always comes on first btw

the E02 is a fun little light for nightstand use
(for those of us who get up multiple times a night, or need an excuse to play with something in the bathroom)

I bought one in November, and after several emails no response from Manker, I am giving ample time for a response, but many other experiences have led my to believe they have a history of spotty/no customer service.

Nice
purchased a red one, Thank You

sent you a PM to try and help

I have 3 and really like them. One 219c and two XPG3, all with headbands.

The 219c I use around the house and is great for late night reading, especially using firefly when you don’t want to wake anyone.

One of the XPG3 I keep in my truck with a few extra Ladda AAA, surprisingly bright.

The other I just got a few days ago and I think I will mod it with an SST-20, haven’t decided yet 4000K or 5000K. I like the high CRI 4000k but might want to split the difference between the 219c and XPG3 and go 5000K.

I did use DC-fix on all, helps the 219c for reading and smooths out the XPG3, just my preference.

I guess I have had good luck with all my questions to Manker, they were answered by “Steven” within a day or two (if you rule out holidays) and relatively quick shipping.

Are you going to use the adhesive DC fix? If not do you know how to get the bezel off to place some under the lens?

Press the bezel against some rubber to unscrew it. I only use some opaque tape on mine and placed it outside and it works well.

Thank you

I agree
DC fix will blend the otherwise uneven colors of the XPG3 beam, that tends to create a greenish yellow corona.

Once blended, the XPG3 can have a nice neutral tint. And I agree the Low CRI XP-G3 is considerably brighter than a High CRI LED…

I measured 120 lumens on my xpg3 copper tool, vs 90 lumens from a High CRI Nichia

Im a tint snob… I wont use xpg3, or any other low cri option… but, others are not as picky about CRI as I am.

enjoy your lights!
