Australia Based Deals / Info / Links / Discussion

I just put an order in at Liitokala store for some 26650 and 21700s the shipping was only a few bucks.

You can pickup some decent lights now at Bunnings for a good price look for the clearance items and brands like Eiger and Teller they always go on sale. The ones i have bought have a mix of LEDs one was a XPG2 another was a XML2 U3 another was a XPG3.

I picked up a car bonnet light it does 700 lumens for $10 its rechargeable great for the shed.

I didn’t see any batteries on the Liitokala AliExpress store with postage that low to Australia unfortunately. Lowest was US$7.37, most were US$11.58. Maybe I could keep looking, I notice that battery packs have only US $3.16 postage (untracked).

Try to add a few things to your cart and see if shipping changes? Right now its showing me $7 AUD but i paid less.

Supersports600 has some good 26650 Keeppower 5500mAh

Yep, I’ve got them  15A.

I successfully got a couple of PLB 26650s from Sofirn, they used Fastway. I ordered eight 14500s on the 17th (when the exchange rate was 0.60) but they haven’t shipped yet.

For torch/headlamp buying I noticed YLP accepts payments in Rubles (RUB), and the prices are significantly better than if paying in USD. Coupon code BLF-10 for 10% off. The shipping cost is high if ordering one item though, but you could get eg. a Panda 2M CRI and an Escort T95 CRI for RUB 4482 (AUD $98) delivered.
If you paid $71 USD you’d be looking at AUD $127 at the time of writing.

Thanks for the heads-up! I’d been thinking about some YLP lights but that makes it more attractive.

I just got a bunch of 21700 and 26650s from Liitokala Aliexpress. They seems to be able to ship here.

Now if only i could find some toilet paper lol.

Im wanting to convert a 3D Maglite to LED with a crystal optic and Lithium ion batteries. Has anyone in Australia done this and have found suitable components and somewhere in Australia to supply them.

I don’t know of anywhere in AU that does that - only place I really knew of was AdventureSport (vestureofblood’s site): https://asflashlights.com/18-led-upgrades-for-maglite

US based, expensive even without our dollar being in the gutter.

Maybe Cutter Electronics ?

Banggood now charging over 10AUD for postage to Australia

It looks like free postage to Australia no longer offered by Banggood.

I selected CN as the Shipped From & the postage was over 10AUD.

I was looking at cables & car adaptors. Not sure about anything else.

Good Bye Banggood

Thanks cm64. :+1:

lol charging for postage and i bet the package still get lost in transit.

Time to say good bye to banggood

At present some Aliexpress dealers are still offering Free Postage to Australia. Maybe this will also change soon ?
Maybe Banggood has screwed up its postage section on it’s website & it will be fixed

Very strange, I selected USA as the shipping point for a few randon items & the postage was cheaper, under 3AUD, cost of item was a couple of dollars more.

I’m more just miffed that it’s item, plus post, plus insurance (because without it you’re SOL), then add GST on everything. And even if you use a coupon, gotta pay GST on the full price of the item.

Would rather AliExpress, at least insurance is included and it’s easy to work out costs.

I’m sure Banggood are not too concerned. Their trade to Australia is probably too small to bother about.
Push up the postage & make more profit on any orders received.
I will be using AliExpress dealers in future.

Anyone had packages stuck at customs? I have a Q8 that’s been stuck at “Arrived awaiting clearance (Inbound)” in Sydney since 5th of March. All other orders around the same time took a day or two to progress. Filled in a missing item form via the Australia Post website, hopefully the Q8 will turn up eventually…

I have a q8 arrive yesterday. The tracking didn’t include any breakdown, ie customs. But the torch arrived in under 3 weeks.
