That KR4 is surely nice. Very nice. But I miss a few things.
Dimensions and weight! Come on, it’s a direct competitor to FW3A yet it fails to show a comparison. Is it THAT much larger?
Does it come with flashing pads?
Is the driver linear? I guess yes, but confirmation would be useful.

Anduril boost driver with 4x LEDs in series would be a dream…

Well, I did not mean to release it until it’s ready for sale.
Currently, it’s still under testing.
It’s Linear 5A + direct drive, almost the same LED & TINT options like the D4V2, except there will be
a 8 pcs LED mule version, as well as a E21 quad version later, I wish to send one E21 version to you for reviewing.

How many lumens can we reasonably expect from a quad E21A?

TK, I’m perplexed how a quad SST-20 4000K 95CRI can startup at 4000+ lumens. That seems way too high. Are you sure it is the 95CRI variant you tested and not a 5000K 70CRI or XP-L HI 4000K? Also sustaining 1100+ lumens with 4xSST-20 95CRI with so little mass seems to defy physics. But of course I’ll be super happy if it’s true Hank somehow made a miracle light!

The KR4’s performance is impressive enough that I thought I made a measurement error and had to triple-check the results. It can sustain much higher brightness than a D4 or FW3A. In my testing, it performs more like the larger D4S. However, it’s not like any of those because its runtime graph is almost completely flat. It varies by less than 0.3% regardless of battery voltage.

With mild fan cooling, I measured the sustainable brightness (at 45 C) of a D4v2-XPG2 at about 630 to 690 lm. The larger D4Sv2-XPG2 measured at 1030 to 1160 lm during its stable regulation phase. Both had sort of a sawtooth pattern while the FET output gradually falls and then thermal regulation bumps up the power to keep the temperature steady. Meanwhile, the KR4-SST20 held rock steady at 1100 lm.

This is despite the KR4 using a high-CRI LED, as far as I can tell… while the D4 / D4S did not.

Additionally, the KR4 is regulated up to about 5 A, which on my prototype is about 1750 lm. The D4 is only regulated up to 350 mA (about 140 lm).

I prefer side switches, but the improved regulation matters more to me than that. I do hope there will eventually be a deep-carry clip for it.

Please also get the SST-20 4000K FA3 tint bin instead of the current FB4 tint bin which is too greenish :confounded: . A SST-20 2700K with JA3 tint would be nice too! :heart_eyes:
