Seems not the first time when specs drift away from reality @KD
That is pretty cool. Quite :-)) literally, because you know 3000K is actually a cool temperature, while ≈5700+K is actually warm.
Just sent a private message to djozz, let's see if he would like to test such emitter.
Looks like you already got to play with it, 1stein. ;-)
I tested a bunch of Kaidomain emitters on P60 pills using the Texas Ace Lumen Tube calibrated with Maukka lights and a Sekonic C-800-U spectrometer. Output taken at 2s from turn on.

These tested pretty accurate in terms of tint bin and CRI. But it's also possible that you might be getting something worst than what you want. I ordered a XML2 two years ago that was supposed to be 7A3 bin (which means rosy tint) but it ended up being far above the BBL with yellow/green tint.
It would be nice if Kaidomain can test one emitter from each batch to ensure they are getting accurately labelled bins from their suppliers. Though I know it is difficult and time consuming to do but there are cheap $200 equipment that some people on BLF have used in-lieu of a spectrometer.
Are you sure these two didn’t get mixed up somehow? I find it hard to believe a CREE hitting 95CRI and SST20 3000K at 74…
Crap you are right!!! I looked under the optic and it’s actually the SST-20 3000K! It got swapped around with the XP-G3’s container. I edited my post above to correct the error.
And today the order arrived
SKV89, I guess the “3xXPL-HI” entries in your above table have a typo, they should read “Kdlitker 3x XPL HI 3000K T5 7C1 CRI90 P60 no lens”. I would also separate de 3x term or element from all emitter names, looks better and cleaner.
Nice information, thanks.
I got my order today as well, ordered 4/2/20,not bad.
The package was opened then taped back up with a green sticker;“examined by homeland security”
Thank. Fixed.
Ermm… either i’m missing the joke or you have warm and cool mixed up here? Or i have warm and cool mixed up… (I’m hoping i’m missing the joke )
Well Marc E, CCT wise lower kelvin temperatures (cool temperatures) correspond to “warm white” light sources, while higher kelvin temperatures (warmer temperatures) correspond to “cool white” light sources. You can read the color temperature article in Wikipedia.
A few questions for BanL.
The K6 flashlight host looks different between your site and your AliExpress store listings:
http://kaidomain.com/DIY-K6-LED-Flashlight-Host-175mm-x-64mm-Black
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32845429347.html
Besides the knurling, bezel and tailcap, dimensions are also a little bit different.
So what are the correct photographs/pictures of the host?
Furthermore, in the site the reflector hole is listed as being ∅9 mm. Looking at the following AE article description picture,
I see the reflector matches the below one in the site:
http://kaidomain.com/S021807-57_8mm-D-x-55mm-H-SMO-Aluminum-Reflector
This reflector has a ∅12.3 mm hole so, what's the deal?
Thanks.
Aha, of course! I’m so focused on colour temp when i’m on here i forgot Kelvin is an actual temperature unit! Thanks for the reminder
BanL, what about ∅9 mm reflector hole Osram 3030 gaskets? Can you source them? A suitable gasket for your K6 host I spoke about, let's say. A CSLPM1.TG emitter inside a K6 should make a very throwy torch.
Hi Barkuti
We don’t get 9mm reflector that is used on 3030 LED.
I will go to test the beam and make the gasket.
Thank you
Ban
I am interested in those gasket.
I will go to test the beam and make the gasket. Thank you Ban
I would need them as well. If possible to make gaskets for narrower reflector openings also that would be great
BanL already offers gaskets for 3030 leds and ∅7 mm reflector opening:
Given how item information is presented in KD's page, where only a part of the description is shown under the item's picture (see miscellaneous parts, for example), it would be a lot more useful to list gaskets using a different description format. People looking for gaskets mainly look for “a emitter size and/or type gasket for reflector hole diameter”, and so this information should be at the beginning of every gasket description, in my opinion. Item descriptions seem to be limited to 50 useful characters, I have just checked and any long item descriptions measures exactly 52 characters long, including two dots at the end. This way, the description of the above gaskets, which right now looks like
10mm(D) x 0.8mm(T) White Plastic Insulation Gasket..
would, for example, instead say
3030 Osram gaskets for 7mm reflector hole, 10mm(D)..
It is a lot faster to find suitable gaskets this way, and this translates into a better shopping experience in my honest opinion. The character set in the descriptions, though, has something to do with AliExpress.
