So I heard about these two immigrants who were in line in New York Harbor, decades ago.
The first one came from Norway, the second one came from China.
And they got to the head of the line and the immigration officer asked the tall blond guy his name
âIngemar Johannsenâ
The immigration officer wrote it down and said âNextâ.
The short black haired guy came forward and the immigration officer asked his name, and he said
âSam Tingâ
The immigration officer filled out the form and said âWelcome, Mr. Johannsen. Itâs unusual for two men to come through one after the other with the same name.â
Actually, when we think about brand name, itâs difficult to find a great name that is not used. To avoid that, most people combine words but making the brand name long. Some products are too small for printing a long name. So, think some unique word is a way. The pronounciation and meaning are not considered. Find a name that is not registered is the first step.
Actually use Chinese name is not a bad idea but many Chinese donât like using Chinese name as brand name like Calvin Klein in USA. Because we are too shy to do that or not confident.
It reminds me many Chinese choose foreign symbols or words as tatoo, even though they donât know the meaning. I know some NBA playersâ tatoo is Chinese.
ThorFire is not a name from me, I didnât like it at first, but I got used to it. ARCHEER is a brand name by me, but there is an old brand name ARCHER which is very similar. It is really difficult to think a short, meaningful, easy to pronouce, great name. It drives me crazy.
Barrysail is a name in my mind when it comes a brand name related to myself but Barry is not my real name. If translate my Chinese name directly into English, it will be Flying Dragon
