Adding insult to injury

OMG!!!

It’s $27 for a box of ten quantity. You get 10 face masks for $27 = $2.70 per mask.

And where does it say you can only wear one for twenty minutes?

Well, a couple thoughts here;

If you hook up with a woman and she gives you VD, you know deep down she didn’t just invent it herself but rather was given “The gift that keeps on giving” by someone else, But you probably are not going to date her like ever again.
Soo, I totally get maybe not wanting to support the country that passed on the love to the rest of the world at least for the foreseeable future.

Also as slow as stuff arrives from Cheeena the virus may well be past us by the time you get the masks.

Haven’t ordered anything from them since the SHTF and will not for quite some time. Suddenly a new flashlight is not on any list of wants.

That’s for a 10-pack, and they last a lot longer than 20 mins. A P2 (N95) mask is good for up to 12 hours of use.

oh, my bad, $2.7 is better.

dust environment and infectious environment are very different things,
not to mention n95 protect against particles larger than 0.3 micron, coronavirus particles are 0.1 micron.
bacteria size is 0.3-120microns, dust even larger. n-xxx type masks are not made to protect against viruses

N90 is equivalent to P1, N95 to P2, etc - as the ratings go up, so does the filtration ability.

The masks being sold here are P1, so less effective than P2 - I can only assume that they’d last a similar time though. I’ve worn a P2 on a fireground for >8 hours with no problems.

How much? $2.70 , F them.

rating only shows how many percent of particles it filters out, 90, 95… particles size are the same for each ratings.

Apologies, I got my numbers mixed up.

Either way, I’m going to bow out of this one. Seems like a lot of people upset that a business would sell something.

yea, still quite expensive for a disposable mask, that used to cost less than a dollar, but a lot better than 27 bucks for 1, as i originally thought.

i’m not upset they are selling them for 2.70, still 5x more than they worth, but demand\supply creates the price, 27 for one would make me upset, but 2.7 not so much.

Make sure they are NEW. There is a surplus of cheap USED over there right now.

When I use to use these all the time at a previous job, the rubber bands are made small length wise until stretched. I use to have to stretch them one or two times by hand then wear the mask.
If it was used I would think the mask would slip right on without much resistance unless you got a small head. New they will be uncomfortable tight unless stretched a little. I really hope know one is selling used one’s and that’s just a joke.

No joke. There is a surplus of cheap used. And they aren’t lovin’ Americans much right now either.

Hey, what’d we do?

Pretty sure all of social media plus the POTUS been throwing lots of blame and hate that way.

Misinformation abounds, and has caused much of the panic issue. I suggest research.

The masks are more to prevent coughing germs onto surfaces and to keep one’s hands away from nose and mouth, which is how we get infected. The mask itself will not stop the virus, but keeping your hands away from your face and washing your hands often will go a long way. Read what the World Health Organization and the Center for Diagnostic Medicine have to say, avoid Social Media information as it’s mostly gossip and ill informed.

Be safe, best wishes…

the only thing that does prevent virus infection is air tank, and full face mask, like those that firemen use, i have one, thou it is almost empty, always wanted to charge it, but never got around to do it, not that i would wear it now, but i wish i did charge it, you never know. now all dive shops are closed,

Wellp, to be fair, hasn’t like (almost?) every recent viral outbreak been traced back to a wet market there? Those’re plague-factories, yet nothing’s ever been done about them, nor will there be anything done about them.

Was trying to find a vid showing one of ’em, and how nasty/filthy they are, but can’t find it.

Oh, Hell, have at it…

Food drops on the floor/sidewalk/whatever? No prob, toss it back into the basket. Open crates also on the floor, resting on the same floor people walk on, spit on, effluvium from the “wares” spills on, again, no problem. Let them sit there, wide open. Then stack them with the same dirty bottoms of the crates resting on the “food” that’s on top of the crate below.

Ew, ew, ew. Let’s just say not many of those places would get ‘A’ ratings here.

I’ve seen the wet markets and agree that’s disgraceful. All I am saying is that human nature doesn’t accept blame and hate with kindness.
