Fireflies E07 temp issue

I recalibrated the temp senor and set the max temp to 50 degrees Celsius, it’s still stepping down straight away when Turbo activates. I’m using a 40T and it barely gets warm. I absolutely hate Anduril having no setting to switch off the step down like NarsilM

Anyone got any idea?

Try to cheat with calibration.
Tell on first step that there are 10 degrees against real 25, as example. So if you set +20 on second step, real step fown level would be 65.

Yes, but if I set the temp wrong it still behaves the same, after activating Turbo again it gets extremely hot .

I became a distributor and have quite a few so it’s a bit of a let down. I don’t think I’ll continue with Fireflies

Well, using a slightly drained 40T works as it should, seems it’s only doing it when using a fully charged battery.

Anyone else experienced this?

When does it step down? Mine is at 20 seconds with temp set to 65. Apparently the thermal code needs to be adjusted for some lights. Fireflies just used the same code from another light (PL47 I think). Not sure if the FT03S has the same problem but it does the same thing.

Yeah that’s right, entirely forgot about the FT03S issue. It’s just a shame that manufacturers aren’t thoroughly testing the firmware on their lights first.

The first step down occurs at 3 seconds and is barely warm. Step down temp set at 50 degrees.

Reactivate Turbo and it lasts 20 seconds, same as you

First.
We should designate, that Turbo mode is completely unregulated and overdrive for diodes.

So, we should check temperature right on led’s board.
Dissasseble bezel and use multimetr with temperature sensor.

If main led board is cool against powerdown begins, that’s the question of recalibration.

But thermal interface between led board+driver and flashlight body can sucks and body can be cool when driver&led board overheated.

Only when we could know temperature on board we could understand the sources of such stepdown.

Try to go to Turbo on more discharged battery, is anything changed?
Is the same steps downs on ceiling ramp level

it shouldn’t be stepping down in 3 seconds. Have you tried cleaning the contacts?

Step down after 3 seconds is definitely not temp firmware issue, the heat can’t flow that fast to the MCU
Its either voltage stepdown or wrong calibration

I have seen on some of my Anduril lights strange thing. After battery change, if i step up in stepped mode up to 6th level, light flow go down. If I switch off and on flashlight everything works well.

quirks….

I’m calibrating the temp using my IR thermal gun, is that fine?

I let it sit till it’s cool to room temp at 22 degrees, that’s 22 clicks.

I then click 15 times for 45 degrees.

It works perfectly after the first time it steps down

Tested one of the other E07’s and it works perfectly with a step down at 20 seconds using the same 40T battery.

It seems to only work correctly if I set the temp to 13 degrees and the step down to 50. The other lights work perfectly. It’s very annoying having all these issues with Fireflies.
