Looking for budget puncture resistant gloves

I don’t know the price at the moment but here I’m using Turtle Skin.
Sufficient to handle thorny bushes although it only has puncture resistant on the palm.

Yep, unfortunately even the MCR Safety gloves probably only protect the palm sufficiently.

I would be much more eager to recommend them if they protected the entire hand.

Let us know how the MCR gloves work out.

You mentioned budget options so I thought I would pitch in.

For an inexpensive option I have used Harbor Freight welding gloves ($4-$5), the extended gauntlet is useful for avoiding thorns but not puncture proof.

Also, my favorite, a wrap or two of dense weave duct tape (Nashua 357) on any glove is really helpful. My brush handling gloves at this point seem to be almost entirely duct tape and years old, just apply more when abraded or needed. Started this when I was having a hard time letting go of a favorite pair of gloves and now often wrap the new heavy work gloves from the start.

Cut resistant (woven Kevlar) is definitely not puncture resistant. Any point narrow enough to get between fibers of the weave and spread them apart will poke you.
Cut resistant material is proof against slicing, not stabbing or thorns.
You can find cut resistant gloves marketed as “Chef’s gloves”

There are gloves that claim to be cut resistant AND puncture resistant.

I do not know if any of them are made of woven Kevlar, however.

The first pair of gloves I plan to buy will be for my mom.

After that, the next pair of gloves might be for myself.

My mom wants leather gloves of some sort.

I'm leaning towards synthetic gloves for myself.

The buffalo gloves look pretty good, but several Amazon reviewers question whether or not they are actually made from buffalo.

So the search continues.

I looked up which types of leather are good for puncture protection, and buffalo is the way to go.

This pair of buffalo gloves looks decent to me:

I'm not looking for metal gloves.

Just leather or synthetic.

And if you want to be taken seriously, provide a retail link to somewhere that takes USD.

I would recommend DEX FIT Grade Cut-resistant Gloves. I really like them because they are very thin and light, making me comfortable to wear.

I received these gloves in XL today.

They are very nice.

I have long skinny fingers, and they fit in these gloves perfectly.

I haven't used the gloves for anything yet, but they will be my go-to pair of gloves.

I’m an ironworker and those gloves just won’t quit. I usually go through leather driver’s gloves in a week or two, these have lasted over 6 weeks now and still don’t have a puncture or slice all the way through. Toughest gloves I have ever had!

A pair of Happyelp gloves cost $ 5. A puncture-resistant gloves level 5

What the heck are "Happyelp" gloves?

Gotta link?

RC, interested in how you like them and how they protect.

Gloves made for gardening would seem to be a thing you might try.
The long cuffs would be a great help in grabbing piles of branches/plants.
All the Best,
Jeff

Google for Ansell hyflex.
They have several types

Oops sorry! Actually it’s Hanhelp Safety Grip Cut Resistant Gloves

Those are cut resistant level 5, not puncture resistant level 5, despite what your website says.

RC,
Any feedback yet on the gloves you got as far a puncture resistance?
All the Best,
Jeff

I haven't used my buffalo gloves very much, but I love them.

They are very comfortable, and extra large fits me nicely.

I also haven't handled anything pokey with them, so I don't know how puncture resistant they are.

They are my go-to pair of gloves for when I'm not handling anything too dirty.

If I'm handling soil or something really dirty, I use my pigskin gloves because I don't care if those get dirty.

Someday I'll have to handle something pokey and I'll update this thread with my findings.
