Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the centering ring on this version could use a minor tweak. I’ve had more than one person mention to me their LED was not centered. My own is not perfectly either, but I’m not really worried about it. I took the head apart and found the head of the mcpcb screws are short, and the holes in the bottom of the centering ring are large. I was thinking if the screw heads were tall (maybe even hex cap screws?) and the centering ring was a snap fit it might solve this?
This video can only be seen here it’s not something public on my channel.
It is very slow right now, there are very few flights due to the lock down right now so packages go out as space allows. From what I have seen this is adding a few weeks to the shipping process internationally, although larger packages will be delayed more then smaller ones.
I have a few things on order as well and they are also held up waiting for shipment out of the country.
There are very few international flights right now due to the virus. This is greatly slowing shipping to the point a lot of companies are just shipping by boat.
I have several orders from overseas that are held up waiting for transport right now, some going on close to a month so far.
Finally got my GT90 flashlight, but it doesn’t work. Who do I contact to get it replaced? I emailed Neal but no response. Anywhere I can send the light to be fixed?
It doesn’t work at all? That is very strange. That is very rare to not do anything as they are tested at the factory. Normally it is some small issue that slips by.
The batteries are fully charged to 4.2v? All inserted properly?
Ok, the switch LED is a very basic function, The most likely reason for it not turning on is that the driver is not getting power.
I would check the ends of the carrier to make sure it has the correct voltage. Then make sure the driver is screwed down properly. Also try pressing the carrier down onto the driver manually without the battery tube installed and see if it makes contact like that and turns the switch LED on.
Oh, also make sure the carrier is installed the correct direction, the “button top” end needs to face the driver.
If none of that works, the next step is to manually apply voltage to it with wires if possible, positive to the center contact and negative to the retaining ring for the driver.
That is really strange that not even the switch LED will turn on. Something would have to be seriously wrong for that to happen and shocked it would of made it threw QC.
I can fix it assuming I can get any needed parts from lumintop, which could be hard right now due to shipping delays from china. I have worked on a few other lights for them over the years.
I actually have a few GT90 conversion kits that I talked them into selling me on the way now. Possible the kit would have the parts needed to fix it.
Neal has been super busy, seems all the factories over there have been pressed into service making masks and other such items and are only able to work on flashlights at night after hours. You can also try contacting Leo@lumintop.com.
If you want to just send it to me to look at, send me a PM and we can go from there.
