Ordered a Ruike P843W today on ebay, from a trusted seller. I made an offer for $35, and it was accepted. Ships from Virginia, guaranteed to arrive by Monday.

I love Ruike knives about the same as Twosun knives. The P843 is a newer model from late 2019. I am a sucker for a harpoon blade shape.

Thanks Rat_Racer! I really like the look of those steak knife folders. The general design reminds me of the Chris Reeve Mnandi:

+1

You’re welcome. I can see some of the same shape design.
I didn’t like their shipping fees, so I bought 2 sets to get it free. Figured I could flip the other set at almost 30% off what they ask, and ship free.

LTK just got some more test results back. For those of us looking at unknown or questionable brands, this is valuable information.

Spoilers - Eafengrow is still batting zero on their steel claims. It’s mostly 8Cr13Mov and soft 5Cr15Mov. On the other end, Petrified Fish passed the test. It looks like they’re using real D2 at a good HRC. PF has been making a minor splash here with their budget models. It also seems that they were the makers of that rebranded GoComma knife people here were raving about a year or two ago.

This is the first Ganzo knife that I have handled, that I like. For $24, I can’t really fault it. The spine of the blade has sharp edges, and that is really my only beef with it.

The D2 blade is really sharp. The blade shape is cool. The blade action is very good opening and closing. The light switch method, or the push button method can be used to flip open. The lock up is about 40% which is very good.

The G-10 scales are nicely done with a decent amount of grip, feel good in hand, and have a nice shape. The pivot screw is blue, which is a nice contrast, but time will tell if it wears/scratches off.

The pocket clip is a deep carry design. But where it is placed, still allows about a quarter inch of the handle to protrude from a pocket. The clip is not very stiff, compared to most of my knives, but I am sure it will do its job just fine. The clip can be attached to either side of the knife, as there is also a milled out spot on the show side. I don’t like the look of the little plate that is attached to the milled out spot, but that is purely subjective.

This will be a gift for an eighteen year old who needs a light to medium duty knife for fishing, opening packages, cutting paracord, small diameter rope and different materials, etc. The FH31 makes a nice knife gift if the max budget is $25.

Yes, I have gotten much better Twosun knives on eBay in the $25 range, but that is luck-of-the-draw bidding, and cannot be counted on. So, for $24 everyday, all day the FH31 is good. Maybe I should revisit other Ganzo knives…

That’s a shame. The blade on my FH21 is perfect.

Thanks for suggesting Civivi!

I hadn’t liked anything I’d seen from them in the past, but now three of their knives are at the top of my list - the Chronic, Elementum, and Rustic Gent. There’s also a front-flipper version of the Chronic called the Exarch due out in a few weeks.

Unfortunately they’re all sold out locally, but I can wait - it gives me more time to decide which scale material and colour to get.

Chronic

Elementum

Rustic Gent

You’re welcome. I was actually carrying my Chronic today. Staying at home, my on-person EDC has gone minimalist. The Chronic is efficiently sized for what it is.

I missed out on the Elementum. Back when you could get one, I talked myself out of it. I’ve got plenty of Chinese D2 and it’s not my favorite steel. I don’t like the black clip. Well, now I regret it. The Elementum is basically a rounder version of the Massdrop Gent. I have the Massdrop Gent. That’s the one thing I wish it was: a little rounder in the grip profile. So now I’m on the wait list over at White Mountain Knives. I figure I’ll get a black one so the clip and hardware match up nicely.

This Exarch is exciting news. I prefer the new blade shape but I’m sad to see that it’ll be D2. One of the things I really like about the Chronic is the 9Cr18Mov. Civivi does a nice job with 9Cr18Mov. It holds a decent edge and is very stainless.

I really like the look of the Chronic… and the Rustic Gent.

So Chronic or Baklash??

I’m annoyed that I didn’t pick up the tan Santa Fe while they were still available. I ended up grabbing the Orion instead and was pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely not a pocket friendly one though. lol

It depends on what you need. These knives are in different size classes. Maybe think about both?

Of course, then you’ve got to decide which model Baklash to get. Personally, I like the one with ebony wood scales and black liners.

They also have gorgeous models with damascus and shred carbon fiber with gold or copper in the handle. At a surprising budget price. Looks like its worth ten times more but only 100 euros.

Need? nothing. lol Want? all of them.

That damascus and carbon fiber looks really nice!

Harnds Wolverine

Petrifield fish PF719

Petrified fish PF828

Freetiger FT903 & Harnds CK9200

Petrified fish PF818

That Harnds Wolverine looks really nice. I’ve been impressed with my Assassin.

The Petrified Fish brand has my attention. As I mentioned previously, the rebranded Gocomma knife people were raving about here last year turned out to be a Petrified Fish. They’re using real D2 based on some limited testing. The test model had a hardness of 62, which is on par with Ganzo’s D2. That’s good news because I really like the style on some of their knives.

Slowly replacing knives in my collection, I want ZT, Kershaw and Benchmade only
