Looks like the standard 3:5 mode of the Convoy C8, except it is 5:3 mode. But with 1000lm at 5A (theoretical without loss) for the OSRAM NM1 LED, we are talking likely the 3:5 driver of the SST40 driver in the S2+.

Their version of the Convoy L6 uses the same FX30 buck driver as the Convoy but starts on High and clicks down, while the Convoy starts low and clicks up.
