Nitecore emitter swap

Has anybody swapped emitters in a Nitecore flashlight? Recently ordered a MT2A, though delivery will be delayed so we will see how much I like it when it arrives. My thoughts are to swap in a new emitter (either 219b, sst-20 or LH351D depending on my mood at the time) but I was wondering if anybody has opened these up? Will my pointed tweezers work to unscrew the pill or do I need something different? Is it glued and/or will the boiling water trick work? Any other funkiness?

I haven’t done that one, but I swapped the emitters in my TUP, TIP2, P18, and EC4GTS without any issues.

Off topic what did you put in the ec4gts? I have a few gt’s in rout.

I replaced the XHP35 with a neutral, high CRI XHP35 HI. one of my favorite mods. that obviously won’t work in yours, given the voltages.
note that there’s a lot of delicate wires to work around in that light.

Awesome! Bet that’s a great light. Maybe will have to pay someone to fix this up with something warmer.
Thanks for the reply!

Any update on this?
I have a MT2C and would like to replace the emitter with a nice 5000K emitter, XPL HI if possible.

I tried searching for Nitecore mods but I haven’t been able to find any mods of this series of lights from Nitecore.

Can you get the head unscrewed?

I can only get the head off the body. I think the driver might be glued in place. There’s a small ridge in head where I suspect might be a way to open up the head and have access to the emitter, but I’m not sure.

Well if you can get it open, you can probably swap it. If not…

I’ll give it a try one of these days.

how did you happen to swap this led? i currently have a tm28 i want to add cri xhp35 to but i think the pcb is glued to the body and it looks almost like your picture. only two power wires.
