What colour is the anodising? It looks quite interesting in some of the photos, but I suspect it’s just the lighting.

Hm… it looks from the photos like:
A. the design of the head forgot to accommodate for the thickness of the glass and/or o-ring on top of the carclo or
B. all the photos result from a single poor assembly attempt. (maybe the bezel is crossthreded or the o-ring is not compressed enough or the legs are not aligned …)
As a result the bezel is only screwed in half way.
I am assuming the design is for the bezel to barely protrude.
I am hoping for option B.
In any case I am willing to find out up close.
I really like their ax3 model which is the only Amutorch i have.

Amutorch's are legit. I got almost every Amutorch model, modded most of them.
They added only 3 mm (92 to 95) in length over the AX4. The pills are really vertically challenged in some of these lights. Here's the AX4:

Only thing stopping me buying this is the bezel, hope it’s just not screwed all the way down in the photo.
