Now wondering how it compares to the M3. Driver and UI description let me think it’s the same driver… and i could not get used to it because of the long press to change mode which made cycling through modes slow and fastidious. I guess i got spoiled or touched by Andùril. Do you know if Simon updated the driver?

Probably not, M26C is 8mm shorter than M21C. Moreover, M26C only allow unprotected (short) battery type.
No. But if you unscrew the tube from head 3mm or more it work, no waterproof.
Tested on my M26C sst40 and Sofirn 21700/4000 from C8F (flattop unprotected).

You probably mean Biscotti as available on he S2+.

Can someone confirm if the M21C and M26C are the same light just threaded for different diameter battery tube? Or are there differences in head/reflector shape/size? If not, all things being equal, the performance between the two should be the same?
I do not have M26C 70.2 with me but from my observations:
