Lumintop GT micro

Still having problems with the button. It will always turn on but is really inconsistent with getting it to turn off. Been trying to get a hold of Lumintop for almost two months to get it fixed but they are not being cooperative. Their service regarding warranty work is just terrible. They might as well not even have a warranty cause it’s a joke. At least for me it has been.

KP 840's are pretty low power, pretty dated. They are the old SANYO 840's, been around since 2012 or even further back maybe? If the KP's are protected, even worse - the old PC was much more inefficient than the better ones available now. The 1000 mAh unprotected is probably the best all around, available under various labels.

I've used the SANYO's a lot way back, 5+ years. I even have the KP protected versions as well - definite high resistance comparatively.

I use efest purple 14500 cells in my Micro, and they work just fine. I don’t use it often enough to have a good feel for run times, but I have a total of four cells, and a Nitecore D2 sitting right next to the cells, so I don’t worry about it.

Does anyone know of any sales / coupon codes that bring it back down close to the $26 sales price? Would love one

I wish…

At first I thought it to be a limited-application light, but damn, I’m carrying it in my pantaloons even just going out in the backyard. E03 for close-in viewing, ’micro for owl-spotting. And nowhere near the bulk of a C8/P30/’mini/etc.

32 usd is the lowest atm

For small size throwers (and if I don’t need it for long runtime), for me it’s a toss-up with either the GT Micro or the Emisar D1 in 18350 tube format. Both are small, D1 in 18350 will be more ‘stocky’. Almost similar throw for GT Micro vs Emisar D1…

Hmm, odd. Tacked onto an order a pair of Vapcell 7A 14500s to try in lieu of the EBLs I’m running now. Doesn’t seem to be much if any difference.

There might be some difference/increase, numerically, but not (to me) visually. There’s enough of a pause between ceiling and turbo to see only a very faint increase in brightness (real or imagined) with both, despite the rather long “blink” between.

And comparing to a new EC4GT (approximately matching their respective brightnesses), there doesn’t seem to be any difference between the Vapcells and the EBLs.

Both cells were topped off to 4.20V right out of the Opus.

So… looks like I could get by fine with my generic EBLs?

i measured some of my cells

Kewl, tnx! Interesting to see the differences in cells.

If I can find my clampmeter :person_facepalming: I’ll give the EBL vs Vapcell a whirl.

In Texas Ace’s XPL-Hi LED test, going from 3.5 to 4.5Amps of power increased by around 200 lumens (but these are likely bare LEDs, not in a flashlight)

I guess if we had the voltage-drop over the cell we had a better idea about the cells performance

Patience is a virtue, they say.

Edit: Wrong thread, I want Nano

I just noticed this new product on Nealsgadgets!
LUMINTOP GT MICRO OSRAM KW CSLNM1.1 809M 14500 THROW

I wonder if using the Vapcell H10 would fry the emitter.

163 kcd? Is that possible in this size? I got ~112 kcd in mine with the OSRAM black flat, so maybe... Turbo can go higher than 2.5 amps, but nothing crazy.

You mean the driver is limited to 2.5A? But the white flat maxes out at 5A-6A and the Vapcell H10 is rated for 10A continuous

No - they are spec'ing this light to be 2.5 amps on turbo in the BG listing, on Nealsgadgets, and in the OP in this thread. This is a FET+1 driver with no amp limit imposed. There's been several posted about measuring more than 2.5 amps. Maybe 2.5 amps is the best you can do with their battery - button top and built-in charging.

m4d, are you affiliated with the newer Firefoxes 5 HID? If so, is there a GB here on FF?

I would be interested in the Fire foxes FF5 GB too. 10k lumens at 2000m throw with a relatively small size is just incredible. I found some photos of it on google. That tint is just gorgeous (100CRI?). I doubt LED flashlights will even reach that kind of performance in another 5 years.

i already shared my desl for the FF5 ;)
