`I am in need of a UV flashlight. A convoy c8(+ maybe?) with an extention tube kind of setup. I have a knockoff convoy that fits the bill perfectly. All I REALLY need is the LED emitter and whatever corresponding driver it needs, since they are usually a one or two mode driver. No need for SOS, beacon, party, etc., right? The second thing I need is the corresponding UVWB2 (?spelling?) filter. Anybody have these two (or 3) things, let me know. Know where I can get it? Let me know that as well! Thanks a million, in advance!!
(I am going for 365nm UV……NOT going after anti-germ/icidal/exotic wavelengths!!!)
Based on my recent expierence, kaidomain.com is your best bet. They have several 365nm emitters to choose from, as well as a multitude of simple driver options, and also uv filters in most common sizes. They also seem to have the fastest shipping of all the China vendors by a longshot. I just got done building a 365nm sst10 build. I used a 7135x4 single mode driver. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I’m getting ready to build a 365nm triple s2+ using Seoul Viosys emitters. I haven’t figured out what driver I’m going to use though(maybe 7135×8). I’m curious, what is your intended use?
Forgot the #1 reason for posting for ideas and suggestions……that do not involve international shipping. Any places stateside that you guys know of? Thanks.
Ok…I have tears in my eyes from trying to patch together a kit for the many hosts (convoy) I have to put UV LEDs in, but from America because apparently international shipping took a Xanex with a case of beer and is phoning it in for a while. I am not on a time deadline per se, but it is urgent I get this UV light up and going ASAP. Anybody got anything to sell?? Or parts to sell?? PLEASE!:?
As a last resort if you use Facebook you could ask in the ‘Fluorescent Mineral Mart’ group, but I doubt their prices even for parts are very budget.
I’m not sure I want to support dubious patent holders (opponents of that patent don’t believe it should have be granted in the first place but I’m neither American nor a lawyer), given they are the reason Americans can’t buy filtered UV lights directly from Convoy at AliExpress in the first place, but WayToCool sells the Convoy C8+ UV for $79, I doubt they will sell parts. I’m not sure what’s their shipping speed.
Or maybe you could contact Engenious Designs and ask if they have spare parts to sell. Their prices for what essentially is the same product are rather high because assembling anything in the USA is quite expensive when done commercially rather than as a hobby.
Maybe you are better off buying parts from overseas and selecting the expensive shipping.
