That landshark is growing on me…… a lot….

Its quite a nice watch, decent lume and easy to read. There is only one negative which is well known. Thats the too easy to turn compass crown(left side). It moves and impossible to stay set when wearing. I have a little OCD but it does not bother me, i dont care for the very limited use compass anyway. It does not distract me and knew prior to getting about this. I got it as i like seiko, its their first seiko 5 200m watch and like the design.

I do like it…
Have you seen this new one - I’m still undecided…

Not too keen on that, not sure if it’s the brown straps. The 2 o’clock crown is awkward for my brain as well. Have you checked the steinhart pilot watches and Christopher Ward c8 flavours out? Some real nice watches.
If it’s seiko your after , I quite like the new seiko 5 , especially the dark green bezel.

Is that a modded Samurai?! What a transformation.

In other news the crystal on my 62MAS homage randomly plooped into pieces today. Didn’t hit it on anything, was standing almost completely still and it was such a soft sound I didn’t know what happened at first. Shattered across the whole face and one big chunk had popped off. Maybe stressed it over time since it’s a domed crystal? Have never even heard of this happening, other than thunderstorms here today there weren’t any crazy pressure changes like me going up into the mountains, etc.

I already have a seiko, but I can’t wear it lol. I really want the same version, but not a collectors one so I can wear it without worry. It’s kinda frustrating…. I did say when it hit £1k I’d sell it, it’s getting there - maybe a couple more years. Then I’ll get a real Omega - I have a fantastic repo, it’s top notch, but I probably shouldn’t show it on here…… :person_facepalming:
Many years ago I so nearly bought a Steinhart trition for £450, I see they are double that now……
I am also thinking about modding a Vostok Scuba dude - look into it - looks like fun and fairly cheap. You can get an auto for £50 and see thru backs, seiko bezels new faces etc etc - all cheap as!

There are some really cool Vostok watches. I don’t want to tie too much in a watch myself. I prefer to have a few and rotate. No matter if I spent £1k or £5k, it would be worn a day or 2 then swapped. Then rotated , 2 weeks or a month on, wear again for a day or so. So pointless for me, would rather have a few watches given the choice.
I like my g shocks, lots of choices, easy to customise with bezels and straps(make your own). Pretty tough and light weight, plus I like the change from analogue with digital
some days. I will always like my autos though , so always have a few of those in my little family.

Nearly bit a few times on a couple of steinharts, the titanium and a pilot style. Instead I ended up with an oris titanium and a CW titanium . So steinhart is still on the list, again though, no point in spending a lot when it will be rotated.

I probably need a little clear out, I have around 10 G shocks and 10 metal watches(some auto some quartz). But as with flashlights, regardless of use, I struggle letting them go.

Still I am having fun and enjoying the ride, regardless if it’s a $15 vintage Casio or a $1000+ oris.

My cheapest ever watch arrived today, could not resist for £8 and £3 shipping……………i can see my 10yr old ending up with it though, little small.

Back to a G chunk

Whoa nice and classy :cowboy_hat_face:
