Anyone have a Nebo Swyvel?

Saw the Nebo Swyvel the other day, and it has my attention. Considering it as an EDC.
Ive been happy with the other Nebo lights I have, do wish they would have done their full dimming on the Swyvel though.

I’ve disassembled their Cryket, and used to handle warranty for their lights in general when I worked somewhere that sold them. Got to take apart a lot of broken NEBO.

If, uh, if you’re happy with their other lights, go for it. My usual advice is to stay away. If the rotating head is your thing, the NICRON N7 is great on the cheap end and the Rofis are mostly great on the high end (I think there was one model in particular with issues, but can’t recall which).

Reasons I recommend staying away:
Most of their inventory has historically been gimmicks and/or direct copies of common chinese lights. I would frequently see super-cheap Chinese aliexpress lights here that were nearly identical to NEBO models, but even cheaper yet. In my experience they produce only cold white lights, and I’ve never seen a name-brand emitter in one (don’t get me started on the fake XHP-style things in some of their higher-output lights). Maybe they’ve improved since I dealt with them, it was about 2 years ago. I’m very curious what they’re using for emitter, driver, and cells to claim 1000 lumens. In the past, most of their rechargeable batteries have had proprietary modifications to make it easier to build charge circuits onto a single end of the battery. Their drivers were consistently crap, and would have weird switch issues when the batteries got low.

I still have a Twyst, it’s a neat novelty to me at this point. I stick it to the fridge or leave it by the fish tank. I gave away a few Crykets that I got for free a ways back (they were replaced under warranty for minor switch issues that I mostly fixed), and the muggles that got them LOVED the lights until they met any kind of wear & tear. The only NEBO model I’m aware of that held up to decent wear & tear was the Big Larry.

I have a Big Larry, and a TiNo.
Cant say I have really abused them, but so far so good.
I do realize that Nebo is not a high end brand at all.
The Rofis lights look nice, will have to look into those more.
Thanks

BTW, looking at Rofis lead me to the MR70, damnit, now I want that too. haha
I REALLY like multiple use lights, lights that have slot and flood beams, lights that have angling heads.
Just find them to be so much more useful.

I would see if you can find a good deal on a Rofis. I have held some of the Nebo lights and wasn’t pleased, cheaply made.

I love angle lights and have two Rofis lights well worth the money.

Purchased one of these and am rather impressed with it. I clip it to my hat when grilling in the dark and on my shirt when it gets dark.

That coast light is interesting, Not really seem many decent clip on lights like this.
Wish it had some levels though.
I have had an issue in the past with headlamps being awkward to use, since I have a hat on all the time.
Its one of the reasons I like angled lights, so I can clip them on my shirt at least, but that typically never points where you really want it to, not like a headlamp.

Funny enough, the best solution I have found to a hat light, is a Zebralight H50, and an office clip.

I have one of these as well. Built in battery though……

Yea I like that also. I dont mind rechargeable stuff most the time, I have so many other items using USB cables already anyway.

This looks nice for a battery powered option.

I think Coast HX4 really has the best design, its a shame they didnt give it at least a couple levels, I hate red lights, and 80 lumens wont preserve you night vision well.

I’ve got the harbor freight light that’s like the big Larry. Paid $5.00 all aluminum and good amount of light. Stays in my truck toolbox. Best$5.00 I ever spent on a light. Don’t have to worry about trashing my good lights if needed for dirty job.

Great idea, and cool vintage ZebraLight! :+1:

I always have a right-angle ZebraLight in my pocket (without the headband) and I use a binder clip to hold my cash and cards.

I hardly ever wear a hat, though.
