13,000 lumens from a single 21700 cell. Yes, it also has normal modes.

Got mine few minutes ago. Unprotected batteries work well If you add some coins to the negative end.
Do not use crappy batteries from bangood or etc. Flashlight works for 10 seconds in turbo then Red led flashes due to voltage drop. You will have to reinstall the battery If this happens.

Thanks, video helped.
And I applied few small drops of thermal grease into the thread. Hope this will help to dissipate more heat.

NP :+1: Keep us posted if anything changes!

Mine still functions as should.
However it gives a ton of light, i still prefer my KR4.

So if anyone’s interested, i’m willing to sell it for a reasonable price.

Did you remove the spring to install the coins?

Ganaciosos!!!

My dude, nobody’s gonna understand you here if you don’t speak English.

I am trying to get a refund from Imalent on this light, despite everyone who is suffering a light insist on not working as it should…. even with so many videos and posts of the problems of this project in a last case, not admitting the error in that light…. unfortunate… From now on, Imalent never again! Greedy !!!

I’ve reviewed the MS03 over here: [Review] Imalent MS03 flashlight review. pocketable, 13,000lm, single 21700, USB-C

Mine doesn’t seem to have the red light issue.

What you already knew:

  • It get’s hot fast
  • Turbo is bright (makes my 4300lm D4 seem average)

What you might not have known:

  • The 3000lm “Medium II” mode throttles too (as well as High and Turbo)
  • From turbo, you have to go through off to get to low modes
  • The 21700 cell doesn’t fit in an XTAR VC4 or PBS2

The Haikelite MT09R is a triple XHP70.2 light and managed to get 25,000lm from 4 18650s. This should technically be achievable with a single 40A 21700 cell.

My 3 x MS03’s all hit around 10,000-10,300 lumens. My MT09R hit 16,640, they are worse than IMALENT for telling porkies…

if only ppl would stop buy imalent they would finally go out of business but u keep funding them and getting crappy lights over and over again…. :person_facepalming:

Hey I just got mine yesterday and I have to say, it’s pretty sweet. The UI is really intuitive, it’s tiny, and the light output is absolutely incredible. Makes my old
Nitecore TM26 look like a keychain light

Only thing I’m stumped on is how to attach the wrist lanyard. Unlike every flashlight on the planet it doesn’t seem to have a tiny hole of anything on the Back end cap To thread the lanyard cord through

There are two holes on the radiator fins near the front but the lanyard they included isn’t long enough to go around my hand and wrist and still hold the light normally

I have some bigger lanyards that I got from amazon (awesome… can send info if anyone cares) but I feel like I’m missing something on attaching this

Found an extra 21700 cell on eBay for $25. Was like $39 from imalent. Imalent said that their 5,000 mah 21700 doesn’t fit on this light btw

The 40T for $6 here: https://www.18650batterystore.com/21700-p/samsung-40t.htm

Best all around cell. $17 shipped for two.

Imalents flashlights are grossly over rated and there quality is so so at best yet they ask top dollar for there products. I really like some of there designs but would not buy from them again. This young company has lots to learn if they want return customers.

This 40T cell would work in the MS03?

Does it put out enough amps for full turbo?

The included MS03 cell is a protected 40T. All non protected 21700 (including 40T) are too short to make contact in a stock MS03, you need an added button top or solder blob.

The 40T is way too short and would need a stupidity big solder blob to make contact. Even then Turbo will still lockout.

Ahhh - protected 21700's required wit built-in USB charging. I'm glad I have stayed away from Imalents.

Forcing extra long protected just forces you to buy their highly over priced cells.

Xtar VC8 accepts extra long usb protected Imalent 21700 cells (modified by shaving the white plastic around the anode), and big solder blob 40T works great, after clean up tube-head connection and just barely tool-tightened. Hand tight is just barely ok after clean up the thread glue. Slightly tool tight is the deal. I got two of these, all good. Similar size class pocket rockets are more throw, this beam is all wide, very bright close in.
