I was thinking about boost driver with 12 groups and xhp70.2
Well, this is understandable. I also thought in getting a few flashlight diffusers for the same reason, but decided otherwise because the lamp would have looked quite weird with them:
No need to link them here, but I will anyway say that sellers ask quite some money for these things. These are the cheapest, but still I need to spend above €4 or close to $5 for 4 pieces (left ones). And if I am to choose one for the Astrolux MF01 (right side picture), which is hemi-spherical and pretty, they are asking around $4 plus shipping  each piece.
I wonder what amount of light flux is lost with the frosted glass diffusers I bought. 30% maybe?
With diffusion-film like DCFix, there’s not supposed to be more than a few % loss.
Maybe someone can remember the posts/links, but it’s definitely not much. Nowhere near 30%.
I really have no idea if the frosted glass is that lossy, I just randomly chose the 30% figure. O:)
Standard DC Fix is about 3, but you can get thicker, it will of course block more light, but I don’t think it will be more than 7

Noice!
That is really good news Simon. Now I don’t need to solder osram leds on 3535 MCPCB’s aní more. I think I will buy 10-20 of those MCPCB’s
At last. Convoy is beating KD. Slowly though...
No White Flat 2mm^2?
Which models can use the LH351D?
All 3V led models so you can replace XP-L, XP- L HI, SST20, SST40, XM-L2, XP-G2…… leds with them.
Thank you, ZozzV6. I think I might get either S12 or S21A with 5k LH351Ds. Hope both are good hosts for the emittter and the tint bin is good.
Simon, any updates about the 4x18 with SBT90?
I have a 4000K & 5000K LH351D in my S21A hosts and they are great! You'll want a driver that senses temperature for step down.
I see. Do you think the current 6A driver would be fine with the emitter? Will it overdrive a single LH351D? I see that in Sofirn lights, the max current drawn by this Led is about 3-4A, which is about 1,300 lumens. Wonder if Simon has to make some new drivers just for this.
6 amps is not a problem. Check this out:
kiriba-ru sent me these LED’s to test. I had never even heard of them before so I didn’t hold out a lot of hope for them but they really surprised me! They have one of the lowest apparent thermal resistance I have seen so far. This can be seen in how the output hardly jumps from a cold start, that says it is moving the heat away very efficiently. The output is also very impressive at over 2200 lumens! This is more then any other 3V LED I have hot tested. The XP-L2 will make a bit more from a co…

Except for:
The dome started to burn around 5A but after scraping off the burnt area it completed the test just fine and a retest after it was over showed only a few lumen loss at 1A even after all that abuse.
Can we hear more about the Z1?
