~~ENDED~~ [US Only] Free Thrunite Ti3 v2 on Thrunite.com (with $5.95 shipping fee)

Thanks for posting this! I wasn’t going to by any more lights for a while… Just looked at my Amazon order history and I got this light for $15.95 on 8/21/16. Just shy of 4 years now it has been in my pocket every day. Still works flawlessly. In many ways this is my favorite light. It’s been washed and taken a few hot tub sessions in my swim trunks. Never an issue.

Ordered the neutral white version. Will be interesting to see the difference. Mine is the cool white version. Still on Amazon for the same price but for 6 bucks I just couldn’t pass it up.

Love the moonlight for navigating the house at night without disturbing the SO. Mid is adequate for most things and 100+ lumen when you need it from something you don’t even notice in your pocket is pretty cool. The clip reverses so if you wear a baseball cap you can have an instant featherweight headlamp.

Sometimes a low battery will put it into some kind of a limp mode between moonlight and low and it will run that way for some time. However, once it gets to that level if you turn it off it may not come on again. I am just in the habit of swapping batteries frequently so I rarely see the issue. Mid mode with an IKEA 900 mAh battery runs well over 8 hrs. Close to 45 min on High IIRC.

Got my first one in NW a couple days ago. Great little light. Think it will make a good gift light so ordered 3 more.

Yeah, if it weren’t for Corona, I’d grab a few for gifts… Funds are tighter than my facemask

Can you guys who have recently received these confirm that they go back to starting on the lowest level after off for a short time? Next mode memory or last mode memory would bug me. I had heard that it was a mixed bag. Thanks.

Yes it has next mode memory but it resets back to firefly after ~10 seconds.

I just realized Ti3 V2 is different looking, it has the same body as Thrunite Ti

The modes are firefly, low, high. But the default is to start at low. How do you get to firefly? Is the sequence low, firefly, high?

I got a CW Ti3 in December 2016 and have always loved the firefly mode and size of the torch. I have been close to getting another one (as a backup) the past couple months, but I’m glad I held off since this sale came out of nowhere. After getting another CW and my first NW, I noticed the new CW’s firefly is noticeably brighter than that of the NW, but it’s still low. The NW is a little green, but I don’t mind, especially since the firefly is so low, almost as low as my orange L3 Illuminations L10 Nichia 4-mode torch, which has been my standard PJs torch since I got it in 2012.

Regarding the comments about the Ti3’s NMM, I was assured by Eva of ThruNite customer service in November and again this May that all new stock reverts to firefly after ~10 seconds. I do recall that previous product descriptions mentioned a hybrid memory in that the torch would advance to the next mode if turned off and on within ~10 seconds, which seems to be the current behavior.

Yeah, people seem to be misusing/abusing the term “NMM”. It essentially has no memory but to remember the past few seconds to be able to switch to the “next mode” (which is probably what’s throwing people).

NMM means that you turn it on lowest, turn it off, come back a week later, and then it comes on in medium. Off, another week later, it comes on in high. Etc.

This one always reverts back to lowest after it’s been off a few seconds.

That’s what next mode memory means? In what instance is that ever useful? I’m still pretty new to flashlight UI’s, but I can’t imagine how that would be used.

NMM is never useful, in my opinion.

If a flashlight has no memory, that is useful to some people in some circumstances.

I prefer "proper" memory, which is any memory other than NMM.

(I'm the only one that calls it proper memory, though.)

Pretty much never. That’s why people do “the pencil trick” to fix those hopefully rare lights that have it.

I think thrunite makes great UI. The TN4 has a true memory yet instant access to firefly and turbo as well. I like the fact that the next mode always goes down first. The TH20 also has true memory but ramping which is somewhat of a mixed bag. I think the interface on the Ti3 is perfect for the kind of light it is. Wouldn’t want it on my bigger lights but I think it is just right for this light.

My nw version came super fast. After playing around with it a little bit, I went back to order another, only to find I can order five per day…Ordered five more nw’s, five more the next day, and five cw today. Looks like everyone in the family is getting one for their birthday or Christmas, and I’ll have one in all the vehicles and rooms of the house. The firefly mode is perfect on the one I have now, and I really like the mode spacing. Not a huge strobe fan, but they put it at the end of cycling twice through the modes, so accidental strobe activation shouldn’t be an issue.

Just got my NW in! I love the spacing, and I just learned about the hidden strobe! Very cool! Thinking of picking up a CW just to see how it compares. Also, I tend to always lose my AAA lights… I can’t find about 3-4 of them I think.

From L to R:
Thrunite Ti3 V2 Neutral White
BLF Singfire 348
Lumintop Tool AAA
Olight i3E EOS

I love the fog shot! I find myself pointing my flashlight into a vape cloud any time a new light shows up to visualize hot spot and spill.

Oy! Where’d you get that brown one? It niiiiiiice.

Well, before the NW I ordered arrived (arriving today), I went ahead and ordered a CW as well. While I was at it, I threw in a green T1 too. Do I really have nothing better to spend my money on?

Just got one of the CW delivered and it looks good, don’t need to try the NW if it has green.

Will order more for gifts.
Thanks to the OP!

The Desert tan i3E was available on the Olight website as freebies (if you buy over $49) or free (just pay $5 shipping) coupon months ago I think.
