Imalent MS06 25,000 lumens

I have 7 Imalents and haven’t notice any problem with quality or realiability.
Maybe because they sit on shelves. And still haven’t lighted all of them.
I have three more on order. And now I must have this soda can. To shelf it.

Cheers.

It uses 3x high drain 21700.

It says so in the text right below the picture in OP’s link at the Imalent site.

Yup, but they added that info about a day after I made the post.

Hopefully any 21700 flattops will work, but I doubt it.

It should be throwier due to the much deeper reflectors, but will also be much less efficient due to fewer emitters.

More interesing here is the boost driver which power that beast. Is is difficult to drive one XHP70.2 with high currents so more interesting is how Imalent is achieved that high power here.

Imalent needs to fix their quality and reliability problems first

Very true. Bought and sold a DX80 and never looked at Imalent again.

it seems they having a hard time with this they focus too much on silly lumens on paper…

I’ve been using Molicel P-42A. Just about the Samsung 40T equal and a wide top that protrudes past the cell wrapper.

“flashlight can be quickly charged with the three included 4000 mAh 21700 Li-ion power batteries via the magnetical USB port.”

Wonder what “magnetical” means in this context?
Perhaps a Tactical-Magnetic?
Or perhaps Magneto’s powers magical power source?

This is the first (as far as I know) 3x21700 light.
Be interesting how it feels vs a 4x18650. Which I fine a little too thick for comfort.
I like the SP36 with 3x18650s size better.
One of these days someone is going to scallop out all that metal between the cell bays and make a really nifty light.
That weighs less and has great grip.
All the Best,
Jeff

Presumably they mean something like this?

I think you called it!
All the Best,
Jeff

The DX80 can sustain 7k real lumens continuously. The driver is also nicely regulated at that level. For the longest time it was the recod holder for max sustained lumens and still is for this size range. People need to understand turbo is for momentary usage and should be seen as a supplemental feature to the practical modes. Turbo on most flashlights usually last from 30s to a minute because the heat generated is beyond what the flashlight host can safely sustain, which is why it is called turbo. You cannot defy physics.

That is actually how I use my DX80 the most, the 5000 lumen setting (closer to 6000-7000 ad you stated) is good for 2+ hours. That setting has helped me quite a few times during power outages / working in areas with poor lighting. If I remember correctly, unfortunately, the MS18 doesn’t allow you to toggle the fan at lower levels so it doesn’t have any real continuous improvements at the higher levels (ie 10,000 lumens).

If you go to Imalent site, there is a video about this light.

Hello everybody.

All your questions will be answered in our shop.
The Imalent MS06 will be delivered from the beginning of August.
Pre-orders are now possible.
Thank you for your interest.
We from Gatzetec.de are looking forward to the new lumen monster.*

I like this style if it’s really well sealed. I also noted that Imalent has used this charging system on other lights; DM21C, LD10, LD70. This makes logistics a bit easier. Built in charging systems have been my biggest complaint. Dust covers fail quickly making them a crap and water magnet for an otherwise well sealed light. Streamlight got it right for hard use in bad weather.

25000 Lumens are just 65 kcd, that means pure flood

Pure flood is one of the macronutriants of flashlights, along with pure throw and hybrid/mix of throw and flood.

I am comparing this with three other lights: Emisar D18vn W2, Acebeam X80GT, and Acebeam X45vn significantly boosted.

If this light is very similar in head diameter, weight, lumens and throw with similar lights, then it will not fill a gap in my collection.

Compared to X80GT: Same weight with or without cells. X80GT has 20% more lumens, but MS06 is factory speced at 513 meters throw, and X80GT is only 369 meters throw. So, this item is like the X80GT, but noticeably more throw and some less lumens.

Compared to X45vn: X45vn big boost has 775 meters throw, but it also weighs much heavier at 715 grams with cells, and has a larger head diameter, at similar amount of lumens.

Compared to D18vn W2: D18vn W2 weighs a little bit less with cells, and has much more throw, and noticeably less power at 15,500 lumens.

MS06 is lighter and more compact than X45, more throw at same weight as X80GT, and more powerful than D18.

If the MS03 has significantly less than the factory speced 25,000 lumens, then it I would consider it a more floody and less throwy alternative to the D18vn W2.

The question is: What will reliable reviewers measure the turbo lumens at? I think I will start with ordering one sooner than later, and another one if I like it very much.

I’m not sure, it will probably burn down my Lumen tube
