A family we are friends with. The oldest son was in the hospital, unrelated, and seems like he picked it up there. Funny because he had negative tests at intake and before surgery. Given the recent negatives, his parents and sister visited him and his fiance when he got home from the hospital… and then every single one of them became sick.
The parents and sister were isolating, and only had contact with him and his fiance. The fiance is an essential worker, but nobody else at her place of work got sick.
Only the father needed hospitalization. They’ve all recovered, with no lasting symptoms other than possible lingering fatigue.
A friend of mine wasn’t feeling so good and went to do the testing. What he describes is lack of breath by doing any sort of physical effort or exercise. Within 2 weeks he was fine but believes some of the symptoms have remained but not as bad as when he was sick. Weird thing is none of his 6 family members that live with him got any of the symptoms despite not taking extreme precautions during that time.
Wife’s cousin passed away three weeks ago from Covid. Have so far 5 deputies and about 20 officers in our department got it, all recovered or are recovering.
I mainly wanted to talk about my family friend that I thought had COVID-19, and I figured it wouldn't hurt if other people talked about the same subject.
So far the thread has been very interesting to me so in my mind it's a good thread.
I wonder, and perplexed as well…if his case was a real false positive, meaning he never had it, what then is the reliability or even usefulness of such test?
I won’t be surprised with a false negative, for tests are not 100%, but a false positive? It’s just as scary.
What is your favorite school of psychology? What is your favorite healthy food? What is your favorite Led Zeppelin song? What is your favorite physical constant? What is your favorite neurotransmitter? What is your favorite book of the Old Testament? New? What Step are you on? What is your favorite subatomic particle? Do you like more kinds of flashlights than you hate? Do you think Good and Evil are absolutes or relative? What is your favorite unhealthy food? Do you like math, and if yes, what is you math level? In your own words, what is Newtons' third law of motion? If you could put a message in a bottle destined to another planet, what would it say? Another universe? Do Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz have the same moral to the story? What is life all about?
Jungian. Chocolate (dark). “The Immigrant Song”. Alpha. Acetylcholine, ’though I always had a fondness for dopamine. None really, as they’re all crabby. Revelations. 0th. Charm quark. No. Considering most of my relatives are evil, I’ll say relative. Peanut-butter cups. Yes, very big. When you push something, that something pushes back. “Help! I’m stuck on Sol 3, Orion Arm, and need immediate rescue!” Same, ’though I’d add “Milky Way” to the location. No, “Star Wars” can’t be played to “Dark Side Of The Moon”. Winning!
My dad who is 70. He says he was asymptomatic the entire duration and doesn’t think Covid is serious but did comply with all self isolation instructions from his health department.
This is a good thread. Not for data but possibly to vent. I was very concerned about my dad at first. It’s troubling news when it hits close to home even if you feel the person will make a full recovery.
No, I don’t know him, but Dwayne Johnson’s family got #COVID19. But they all recovered from it and… Dwayne insisted that they’re “even healthier than before.” Which is really a terrible message, because Dwayne is mega-wealthy & probably has the best doctors available, and “kickstarted” a healthier lifestyle regimen afterward. Some idiots will believe that surviving COVID19 “makes you stronger.”
Covid started rolling in, what, February? 6 months ago? After all these months, my brother and his wife (both in their late 70s) are the only ones I know personally who’ve gotten Covid. Despite their age, they both recovered. It seems rather amazing that such a virulent and deadly disease has had so little impact on my family and friends.
