Nice comparison. I have both. They are great lights. I just wish they used constant current circuit so the output can be maintained. Also both are mising USB-C recharge. With these two features, they would be perfect soda can lights.
I agree with you. I don’t really like lights that use lots of batteries with built-in charging ports. It will take a lot of time to charge the battery. Water resistance will also greatly reduce.
Actually I want usb-c recharge in multi-cell lights. 
It is a good convenience feature to leave charging over night and for gifting to others that don’t have a charger.
Type C charger probably max 18W. I think it is also very positive.
Output drops with cell voltage on CC drivers too, unless one of these runs the emitters and cells in series.
