Image Boss! (no politics, no sexy pics) Have fun. ❤️

I thought that I could succeed, but should have known that G0OSE was right about not being able to find it. The Oberhausmuseum Passau has apparently managed to restrict releases of this image to details such as the lamp above and perhaps four others (the “missing” fourth is of a shoe, demonstrating the typical nativity display as if the Christ were White, often rich, and born in medieval or renaissance Europe).

So, 600 years after this painting was made it appears that you must visit the museum in person to see it. There are numerous nativity derivatives that appear in search engines, but the Wolfgang Sauber version has apparently been defended from photographers for centuries  .

Most derivatives lack the lantern, but there’s a relief that shows a similar one in a similar location, along with an extremely pale Mary to suit European tastes :stuck_out_tongue: . Our 21st Century Mary would be painted as medium-dark and thicc af:

(NOT AN ENTRY)

In original, animals are foreground lower-right corner, Joseph is background and above them, while most derivative artists were wimps and wanted Joseph in foreground.

Nice one leftdisconnected, you found out more than me anyway! Interesting facts, well found out. I did try for about 20 mins but go nowhere really.

Some Carbide action anyone?

I used to have a Justrite carbide lamp once upon a time.

Oldest surviving Jack-o'-lantern.

Foreshadowing?

Old lanterns…. and whatever works eh? Well hows this !

Ok you want latern. Here are your latern.

Here's an ancient oil lamp.

I can’t give it to Anthony N, because the LT1 is too new! RC had a great candidate until jeff51 showed me this image. I’m picking this old lantern as the winner for this round.

Take it away jeff51!

Thanks northbeard.

Show me two of the same thing.
One old, One New.

Both in the same image.
No people or other living things (too easy).
Extra credit if you took the image yourself.

For example:
Two cameras, 1925ish Kodak 8”x10” and a Digital point and shoot with a sensor the size of my fingernail.

All the Best,
Jeff

Old and new image-boss-topic in one picture, also, flashlights.

Old and new uniforms.

Hmm, reminded me of a Gripen, but thought, “Nah, next to a Spitfire?”. Typhoon…

All of these deserve an honorable mention.
But I had to go with G0OSE.
Can’t resist. The Planes! Boss, The Planes!…
Go for it G0OSE.

This house in Montreal. A 1920’s house with a contemporary extension.

How it was built inside.

One minute too late :person_facepalming:
