Fenix TK41 Is A Winner

Also try Shane at shane@protacticalshop.com and tell him Brad said you would give me one of the best bottom $ prices for a Fenix TK41. He's one of the best to deal with. That's if you live in the US. He'll get you a light in 3 days almost guaranteed.

+1 on Shane.

Shane is most helpful.

Thanks all... I emailed to check the price.

Be my second purchase now.. Lol

Aloha and welcome to BLF paths!

Our "house cat" made a daring night escape this evening, managed to get outside about 8:45pm, when there are a lot of coyotes around. The cat was gone about 15 minutes before anyone realized it, so he had a jump on us.

I live in a pretty rural area, lots of trees, brush, and space between properties.

I grabbed my TK41, wife had a P-60 (SkyRay) and son had a Pocket Rocket P60.

This is a situation in which the TK really shined (pun intended). I never even put it on Turbo mode, ran it for about a half hour on High, and it was just the perfect light to look for glowing eyes in the brush with. If you are ever trying to find something alive in woodsy-brushy terrain, the TK is what you want, and the side clicky is really appreciated since you aren't typically over-handing the light when you are hiking around, easier to carry it at your hip.

And you really notice the bright spill that it gives off. Now I wish I had three of them.

Found the cat, it had slipped around the side of the house and into a neighbor's garage.

Back into solitary confinement again for the feline.

Seriously, as long as I don't have to pocket-carry it, I can't imagine a better all around light than the TK41,

Shane has offered me a very reasonable price!

That sadly proved to be be his downfall )-;

The Fenix TK41 is easily the best overall torch I’ve ever acquired.

STUNNING beam, just enough useful features, good build quality and not too heavy.

The real deal clincher?

The 8 x AA Battery power supply.

Make no mistake, the TK41 runs best with high quality 2500 mAh LSD or Low Self-Discharge cells

And add a quality ‘Intelligent’ charger into the equation and there is a fair additional investment.

But when sorted there’s NOTHING like it-at least not anything that doesn’t require the dreaded CR123A cells.

WELL DONE FENIX!

A difficult one.

You can spend all your life looking for the ‘best price’, buy and then find a week later somebody else is selling it cheaper.

As a rule (but by no means set in concrete) I’ve found the best price is usually offered by a new eBay trader.

One of these was where I got my TK41 from at £80 inc recorded delivery.

That was THE Cheapest from a UK supplier.

I was lucky because they UK Gadgetspot were relatively new to eBay and were probably offering a staggering deal to build up their reputation on eBay.

And everything on the transaction was PERFECT.

So that would be my recommendation.

In these situations, eBay can be seen as a bit of a punt but if you pay via PayPal then I can’t see a problem.

The TK41 is going to be freshened with a U2 XM-L, 860lm, I picked this info up at another forum.

Welcome to the madness, peterkin1010!

Thank you very much.

Thanks for the posting.

Quite honestly I don’t think those extra 60 lumens are worth me throwing my hands in the air and crying because I’ve just bought the 800 lumens version.

In this game as elsewhere, there is always something better.

A newer version to make it anything like worthwhile for me to start fretting would have a thicker gauge tube, a rubber armoured head, maybe an accurate battery check and an optional lithium power supply.

Apart from that there is for me no need.

Most of us will not be able to notice a 7% increase in lumens, and even on camera it would be difficult to detect. But I agree it is the best overall light I own, with the additional benefit of running on AA batteries.

I need to put some TK41 pictures back up here. The reason why I deleted the earlier pictures was that those were taken in auto exposure, and I have since graduated from the trooplewis manual setting applications of true beamshot technology studio production class.

I like the Tk41 but its size and bulk are unwarranted. If the size of the light somehow determined the performance
in any form then i failed to see this in the TK41. Its brute size and excellent performance was carried to the side by
imitated tiny power thrower with undeniable optics, kinda like Mr Magoo. Dont get it twisted if an opportunity to add a TK41 to my collection became available i would. Its a great light but makes a better back up.

Troop - im in no way attempting to taint your thread or objecting to the facts made. Im just “throwing” in my 2 cc’s in comparison to a stupidly expensive light that i was lucky to purchase at a slightly less stupid price and able to make the comparison. Reason i didn’t mention the name.I can certainly edit my post if you like. I Feel i Surely owe the OP this courtesy

Here’s a 60yd beamshot on manual settings 1sec shutter f/4.5 and ISO 400.

Here’s another on manual 1.4 sec shutter, f/4 and ISO 200 at 60yds.

But I’ll try to take some more on about 1 sec or so at farther distances and get them on here.

I have the TK70 and bought Tenergy White Premium 10,000 mah batteries.

I soon found out that I should have bought LSD (Low Self Discharge) NIMH batteries.

With LSD batteries they retain charge even a year down the track and still have about 80% charge still available whereas the Non LSD batteries will be dead and need recharging.

With the Tenergy Non LSD ones I have can’t be trusted to work if you leave your flashlight unused for a while and expect it to work like it had just been charged.

I use Imedion LSD 9500 mah NIMH batteries.

I now get 1 hr 20 mins on Turbo and then the light drops levels down to about 2 1/2 hrs.

Tenergy make Centura NIMH LSD batteries that are good as well.

They are more expensive but you don’t have to keep topping them up all of the time.

Cheers

Just received mine in the post today very nice torch love the dual switch design now wait for darkness and compare it to my ea 4
