[online] FW3E GLOWBODY groupbuy

Way to gimmicky for me :confounded: Great for Halloween though

Interesting idea. I haven’t seen anyone do this before.

That said, the all-plastic body looks a bit tacky and cheap. This is not for me.

$100!?
80% of the price probably for the idea than the materials and the cost of production

Seems more like something my kid would like. Make it fully muggled with a protected battery and price it at $30. Then I’ll consider getting a few so my kids can have flashlights like Dad’s with a fun glow factor for play and camp.

Wow, tough crowd. Overready has been coating lights with glow powder for years. I think this is another great variation of the of the fw3a. Pity there wasn’t a choice of red - green - blue

just added blue as option ;)

As much as I liked to get 1, just for fun, it seems that the price is too high for this light. Also, needing a “proprietary” battery, makes it even more expensive in case we want a spare one.

The concept is a mix of gimmick and cool , but the price may turn away many people.

In any case, thanks for the work and the deal, Martin and Lumintop :+1:

Totally agree…. I actually like that it would make finding the light easy since 50% of the time I’m looking in the dark for a light.

Interesting. Now please produce a kit that allows us to make any 18650 or 18350 cell compatible.

I made this joke 1 year ago about how Lumintop seemed poised to simply “milk” the FW3x design with endless dumb or creatively dull variations …

I did not guess the glowy plastic version :person_facepalming:

Well, I must be silly/dull/dumb and easily milked because I have bought from Oveready/FF-lights/Lumintop/BLF/silent ordinance and others manufacturer’s that make lights in brass/copper/stainless steel/Titanium/7075/carbon fiber/zirconium/wood/ABS/sapphire/acrylic (or plastic as you say) and very happy with my purchases Hmmmm.

You are not silly, it is merely a joke (about how many variations they make).

Would love to get one but honestly, I can’t justify 100$ on a plastic light while the alu version is around 35$. The TI version is around the same price as the proposed glowing plastic version.

I was hyped for this when I thought it would be priced similarly to the aluminum version and thought it would be a standard model, not the “E” version. As cool as I think it is, the price and proprietary battery will have me passing on this.

Proprietory battery ruins it for me. It would seem this would not evenbe usable with a std cell. At least the Olights, for ecample, that needed their own cell to operate with all features intact could be turned on/off with a std cell, if Iremeber correctly.

I actually like it, but the price is the main thing keeping me away unfortunately.

Maybe kicking in an open door but: buying separate GLOWBODY tails and bezels makes sense?
Or does the magic only happen in the combination of GLOWBODY body and proprietary battery?
And the GLOWBODY tails and bezels are only useable for legoing different colors.

This is super cool but too expensive IMO.
