FW3A mod thread. Post yours!

I have a spare Lux-RC 371D light engine and I want to use it in my FW3Ti.
My current obstacle is to find/create a contact board with the battery because I have to remove its stock driver.

Hi all. I know this is an old thread but I would love to buy the white anodized FW3A. Does anyone know where I can get it?

I’m looking to combine it with red GITD gasket. I think it’ll be a killer combo.

I didn’t know there was a white anodized one.

I don’t think there is.

The Emisar D4 was made in white, but I don’t think the FW3A ever was.

I would not mind owning a panda white fw3a

Wait, what?! The D4 was??

By “white,” do you mean bare aluminum with oxidation or an anodizing that actually dyes the metal white? By a quick Google search, it seems dyeing anodized aluminum white is not possible, rather the anodized metal is allowed to oxidize, giving a whitish silver finish to the bare metal.

I stripped the anodizing of this originally mint green Olight and then lightly buffed the surface. As you can see, the finish is the bare aluminum in a matte silver color. Prior to buffing, the aluminum did have patches of white. Perhaps sealing in the white oxidation would give it a true matte white look.

Looking at archived photos of the D4, it looks like the “white” was a clear anodized aluminum.

Bead blast?

Most of the white looking stuff is that chalky powder coat I think

Hrmm…I was thinking more along the line of the chalk white of the Tool AA. Similar to what kawiboy posted. That and red aux led Mmm…delicious.
Apparently red GITD isn’t very bright.

Does anyone happen to have one of the #36 o-rings laying around they don’t need? I did the o-ring mod on all but one of my FWs, I ran out of them! It’s not that they’re expensive, my OCD will give me a lot of trouble if I buy a pack of 10 and leave 9 lying around. Would be nice to just get the one I need, I can PayPal you the cost of a stamp and envelope! If not, no worries….

I have a pack with 7 remaining. Just PM me your address.

Okay, another question… does anyone happen to have an FW3A 18650 (yes 18650) body laying around? I have a mod-fodder FW3A that I got with 18350 and 18500 tubes, but no 18650 tube, and I’d gladly purchase yours. Send me a PM if so!

CPFs favorite diffuser (a disposable water bottle cap) fits on the FW3A.

Has anyone seen or forged a magnetic tail cap? I mean not something bolted on to the end using 3D printing, but as a standalone integrated metal solution. I’d be really interested in seeing it or purchasing one if someone has. Thanks

lol is that “tactical” enough for them?

Kinda surprising nobody has melted a bottle cap onto the head of their light there yet if it’s popular.

Good day, does anyone know the o ring size used for the battery tube (switch end)? And the white oring too.Thank you

what is this??? how did you do this surface? very cool.
