[4K Review] ASTROLUX EC03 Review - EC03 vs MS03

Not a bad light. I do wonder if driving it to 10,000+ lumens would have meant hiking the price too much as the light is dirt cheap as it stands!!!

Thank you for your prompt, timely, comprehensive and valuable review. It looks like less lumens then MS03 but more throw.  Mine is coming sooner or later. It will fit in nicely with my NSX 53, FW 21 pro, MS03 and TM9K.  I like the non-black bezel. Again your video comparative beamshot reviews are valuable and right on time. I bought three FW 21 pro, and gave two of them to friends. If this light arrives soon, and if I like it as much as I think I will love it, I will buy a few more to give to other friends, just to plant the flashlight bug in their ear.

Normal people walk around with big dogs. They look normal. I walk around with big flashlights. My flashlights have bitten less people then Teds' dog.

Beautiful light! Compared to its smaller brother EC01, which I have bought mostly because Anduril, but hated how the design turned out (looking like a door bell.. :|) this one is looking wonders by miles and miles.

Thank God they haven't used an OP reflector again.. Now I can swap in any emitter I want Smile I wish they would've used the same USB cover as the Wurkkos WK30, don't really like the Sofirn IF25/Astrolux EC01 type.

Q: Will by any chance the MCPCB from a Sofirn C8F be compatible / match the emitter holes from this EC03 ? I just a spare lying around with some XP-L HI's

Cheers!

Just like the MF01S, The beam pattern makes it seem brighter than it is.

Roughly what’s the highest brightness (lumens) it can sustain long term without thermal stepdown kicking in?

Thanks

The factory throw and lumen specs are visibly understated. To my eyes, in a small white room ceiling bounce check, compared to several other lights in its classification, with fully charged 40T cells, it looks no less than 8,000 lumens at turn on. Visibly more than the 6700 lumens than what the manufacturer states. Also, I agree with you, that throw has to be at least 389 meters. This light outthrows my Vinh speced 375 meter NSX53.  I am very happy with this light in several different areas. I received it 5 1/2 weeks before the estimated delivery date, the cost of the light is almost free, the almost non-overlapping smooth reflector wells that are not too small in diameter and not too shallow make for a not too floody beam profile and add good looks to the light as well as does the ample stainless steel bezel. I am strongly tempted to order two or three more.

I think it should probably be 1000 at room temperature. I don’t have it but I did have the EC01 which did somewhere between 500 and 1000 continuous. This has more LEDs and more thermal mass/area.

Just reviewed the 5700K version, a few subtle differences in performance, muggle mode is still glitchy but gone is the blue hotspot.
