Let me be clear:

There was an E21a 4000k emitter that everyone liked, then there was a higher bin one that was greenish. Is this either one of those?

That one looks fine, the spec sheet onsite shows negative duv (tint below bbl, not green)

I did not know there was a green tinted 4000k E21a..

my recollection is it was the Optisolis at 4000k and especially at higher CCT, that had green tint, not the E21a

enjoy

Thanks for pointing out the spec sheet. I didn’t look at that. It was definitely the e21a because I have lots of fine optisolis 4000k from last year, but no E21A in that temp.

Here’s where I admit that I can’t read those spec sheets. I can see that the bottom shows good values for all the colors, and the top seems to show the bbl.

I mainly read a small part of the colorful charts maukka provided to Clemence. I focus on the duv (Tint) and R9

you can see the E21a has higher R9, and tint is below the BBL
the Optisolis has slightly lower R9, and tint is slightly above the BBL

for those reasons I would choose the 4000k E21a over the 4000k Optisolis.

Slightly, I’d say!

The optisolis 4000K has better blue and overall better colors fidelity and is on BBL. I would choose the optisolis over the E21A. Silly
But in reality all those datas change a bit with current, the optisolis was tested at 65mA, so I would not take those tests too literally. Both are very good. Thumbs Up

your concern that the E21a has green tint, is not borne out by the info available.

the Optisolis is greener.

I just meant that optisolis is so slightly above the bbl at .0001 I think some people call it right on the bbl?

Optisolis doesn’t seem to appeal much to flashlight enthusiasts. Most are choosing the e21a because its lower duv and higher output.
