Help, New Armytek WR broken right out of box

Final edit-report. Looks like it was my bad. Im used to zebralights that cycle from firefly to high and back. The armyteks go to firefly with a long press and if you hold longer they cycle through levels and the firefly wont return on the 2 ramp up. It goes hidden until you tun the light off. Not sure why on earth you hide firefly but thats how it works. I thought it was broken. I guess thats what armytek calls a “feature”.

My new armytek wr just arrived. I checked to make sure the battery was in ok and no battery tape on either end. I pushed the button and it came on in firefly. I double clicked and the red came on in firefly. I cycled through ramping modes and firefly was there. I also noticed that both red and white had a SUPER ANNOYING STROBE mode right before firefly and after turbo/high.

Upon reading the instructions it said I could disable the strobe (dear God would the manufacturers please stop putting strobe on lights) by loosening the tailcap pressing and holding on/off button, tighten cap and loosen cap. I did exactly as the manual said and now I lost firefly off both red/white modes. The firefly will light up once when you initially press on button but as it ramps through levels its gone on both red/white. Turning strobe back on does not fix the issue. The light will initially come on in firefly but then its gone from any future level ramping. Its like its now hidden.

Am I doing something wrong or is this the infamous armytek quality I have read so much about WTF??

…………………………
So on EDIT
If I tighten and loosen the cap the first time the light comes on it works in firefly. But if you ramp cycle the levels it wont come back. Firefly is gone until you loosen the cap.

My guess is its broken.

NEVER AGAIN will I buy army-broken lights. Stupid stupid stupid…………I read all the complaints and didnt listen to the warnings about hit or miss quality control.

I got four of these lights.
They work great.
However I did notice that on one of mine it did have issues until I tightened and loosened the tailcap about a dozen times , I think resetting the electronics.

I used a different battery as well each of those times.

The strobe light is very annoying and I count on it; as I use it as a rear light on my bike so drivers can see me.

Keep us posted.

I just tried 12x 13x and 14x times, no joy! Tried 20x on/off/on and off/on/off with button down, no joy. Tried 30x no joy.

Still broken.

Im open to more suggestions…………

Did you try charging it with its built in charger?

Other than that we need some expert to chime in!

Hope it gets fixed.

UGH!!!

After making me send them a video of the BROKEN light now they want me to PAY for shipping back to china and wait who knows how long for yet another UNTESTED light to be mailed back.

NO THANKS! I am asking for money back. I do not want another light.
I am opening a credit card dispute if they refuse to refund money.
Its not a warranty issue as th light was broken right out of the box.

Yea thats the best way to deal with it. If they don’t want to send a return label just start the charge back asap.
If they do send a label but don’t refund when the cc bill comes i would start it then

Funny i ‘tried’ to cancel a order BG wasn’t shipping and delayed and i hard to argue with the cs guy after he refused to cancel it. GTFO guy lol

Did you order from Armytek directly? A common piece of advice with Armytek is to order from a vendor like Illumn.com that will.provide the service for return.

Post a video of what it is doing, maybe that would be better. Most of the time, firefly is a seperate setting anyway. On my Thrunite T1 I can only get to it from off, not from ramping.

Edit: I read the manual online, it seems you can only access firefly from off. Once you press and hold to go to the other modes, you have to go to off, then long press to get firefly again.

Under the manual tab: https://www.armytek.com/flashlights/models/wizard/armytek-wizard-wr-magnet-usb-white-red-light/

Thanks, tried that and it seems to be working. Why didnt customer service know that? I told them and showed them what it was doing wrong and they thought it was broken too, wanted me to ship it back to china on my dime. Why would they make it not part of ramping and normal function? I swear I read the manual and did not see that firefly only works from off with long press. Thanks for advice on where to buy. Because they wanted me to pay for warranty shipping on a new product and didnt know the produce was working but needed to access firefly from off I dont think I will ever purchase their light again. Going to look at manual again, see what/how I missed that (I read it 3x). UGH! There it is.....I must have jumped to how to operate while on???? "In OFF state:Click: To turn on the last used mode.Press and hold: To go to Firefly mode (release to select). Keep hold to start cycling through Modes of the chosen light color." Thanks so much remang Be back in a moment....need to clean egg off face!

Beers on me...thanks again

All non-pros I know do this. Pro models have mode layers.

Not much sense in going back to firefly from a normal mode imo, but I don’t know the WR. Usually, AT UIs are very elaborated. I personally wouldn’t want to waste some clicks for the lowest modes.

Is there a WR Pro btw?

No problem, that’s what this forum is for. Like Unheard said above, the Pro/non pro models have different UI as well.

I think the CS was just trying to make you happy, glad it’s sorted out!

Im used to zebralights that dont hide the low after first contact.
