Thanks a lot for showing another new interesting FireFlies light. Some questions...

  • It is advertised with Osram's Boost HX KW CULNM1.TG with 1,500lm using a 6A CC driver. If I am not mistaken the NM1.TG version is the 1mm² version with only about 900lm max. output. It's sweet spot in applied current is probably somewhere in between 3.8 and 4.8A. So, is it possible that you are using Osram's Boost HX KW CULPM1.TG with a 2mm² die area? That one would indeed match those numbers you advertise.
  • What's the maximum current on the SBT90.2 version? 6A constant current is nice for a decent brightness regulation on medium modes but for turbo this LED takes more than 18A to make it to 5,500lm. Most flashlights using the SBT90.2 seem to have an FET + DD (direct drive) or a CC (constant current) + DD (direct drive) circuit.
  • Last but not least...what's the price on these two lights? :-)

Love this design!

In.

USB-C recharge, much smaller size relative to the competition with same performance, nicely focused beam with no artifacts, and most important of all it’s the first time I’ve seen BUCK-BOOST DRIVER in these hot-rods!!! :+1:

Can we have 8-10A max regulation with FET for the SBT90.2?

6A max would be good for CULNM1.TG and 8A max would be good for CULPM1.TG

Oh yes i agree with SKV89, 10A regulated + FET would be perfect for SBT90.2

Very interesting

When will these be available?

I read multiple times the part it say “Most efficiency 6A Constant current regulated Buck/Boost driver , Efficiency > 90% ” is this kind of a new driver that I have not yet known? Who the technical guy here ?

Well that’s just GREAT! Another torch I have to add to my list, THANKS! I do like the look of this new Fireflies torch. Looks like a nice deep reflector with a head around the size of the FT03! the Osram should be great in this but like most SBT90.2 lights this size its probably going to heat up fairly quick. Now if you could make it in the same color as your diagram that would be AWESOME! :stuck_out_tongue: Looking forward to seeing more of the T9R :+1:

Well there goes my plan to mod my Weltool T11 with an SBT90.2!

I like the look of both these lights and no doubt will purchase. Interested to see how the constant current drivers play out in output and run times. I agree with others that at least for the SBT90.2 a FET would be a valuable addition.

The SBT90.2 version definitely has FET since they’re claiming 4800lm

refer to this testing:

@6A it’s only doing ~2400 lumens

Definitely some numbers here that don’t add up, but looking forward to see more of this. Looks really nice in some aspects. Osram PM1 seems a good fit. SBT90 is just a bit too much for this format imo, but there’ve been worse applications. Too bad there isn’t something in the ~6mm² class with competitive surface brightness… here’s for hoping an SBT70.2 comes about.

Seems nice. But why is it called Fireflylite? Don’t tell me they’re changing their name to that. :person_facepalming:

Nice design, reminds me of a lemax. 6A appears to be too high for a NM1 and too low for a PM1…

6A should be good for a BoostHL though maybe 5.5A is probably best. Remember this is a CULNM1.tg not CSLNM1.tg.

I think SBT90.2 is great in this host. You don’t have to run it on turbo. If it is run on 6A, the SBT90.2 will be super efficient and can stay cool probably indefinitely. But I think maybe 8A-10A max regulation would be best for added flexibility. But regardless, this is the best SBT90.2 host/driver I’ve seen in the mid/small size range. Mega performance and buck-boost driver in a small package (relative to its throw specs).

Yes yes! Welcome back Fireflies with a new light! I was checking on your website last few months for signs of a new light!
As w/ others have said, I think 6A is too low for SBT90.2? Do love the USB-C charging tho, and host looks like its got good cooling properties.

Love it

The old name Fireflies was better, Fireflylite is not as good.

This is amazing:
• Most efficiency 6A Constant current regulated Buck/Boost driver , Efficiency > 90%
• Built-in USB Type-C 2A fast charging

It is great to see more flashlights with efficient buck/boost drivers!

Could you also offer SBT-90 RED as an option? It has a low forward voltage, and it would really benefit from the buck/boost driver.

I’ve been scratching my chin over a small, but super powerful thrower with this emitter when I saw the Lumintop one and the one from Amutorch. I can’t wait to see a head to head in the future. This one has a pretty cool look to it. Their designers crafted a great looking light!

Noctigon K1 used to cost $80 but now it costs $90…

If this flashlight costs $60 - $70, it will make the K1 completely obsolete IMO.

Is there any ETA for release or info about pricing?
