2000k flashlight

Do you guys know of any warm headlamps? I wear my Nitecore around the house in red mode at night but a nice mellow yellow might be peaceful like 2700 or warmer

Get a H04RC from Clemence. You can get it in any tint with Ultra hi cri

It looks like that GB closed ages ago.

Oh man that looks sweet. So not available anywhere now? Thanks!

Just PM Clemence. He should still have some for sale

Anyone have e21 2000K beam shots? How does it compare to 2700K? It is like a pleasant sunset?

Hey guys,

My Noctigon KR4 2000K just arrived. It’s CRAZY seeing soft yellow light coming out of an LED. Like a sunset, softer and warmed than an incandescent. I have an Sony 18650 in it at the moment, waiting for my 18350’s to arrive.

I am amazed by this but it literally might be too warm for some people’s tastes. Wish I knew how to get a good picture of the beam. They never seem to look right using an iPhone camera

Hmm… I have some photos but I’m not sure how to upload them. Stay tuned

I’m loving this light. Went for a walk last night and it was quite bright and you could see the colors of objects, at least much better than my 6500K lights. It’s gorgeous inside… I actually have it sitting on my desk right now pointed at the ceiling on low and all the other lights in the room turned off. I’m not too concerned about my electric bill but you’d have to think this is a pretty efficient way of lighting a room

I remember feeling that way about a couple of personal jumps to warmer lights. The first was putting Waveform's 2400K bulb into all my freestanding and table lamps at home. I wasn't sure at first but that ended up being one of the best decisions I've ever made.

The second was going to SST-20 at 2700K for flashlights. With my eyes adjusted to daylight or cooler indoor lighting, I didn't care for the tint. Then I tried it from darkness and I was much happier. It was amazing for outdoor use over late spring and summer. It's still good for indoor use. Now that we're into fall though, everything outside just looks so brown under that light. I've gone back to my Nichia 219C at 4000K for outdoor use. (The color is closer to natural moonlight.) I'm still interested in trying 2000K but now I wonder how it will look across the different seasons.

That’s really interesting! I was outside last night shining the 2000K in my yard. There were trees, green grass, and leaves and although you could definitely see that they were all different colors, things were “orange shifted” if that makes any sense.

I’ve been using it my office for the last few days too. If I adjust it to maybe 20 or 30% brightness, it makes a beautiful soft yellow glow, like I’m sitting in front of a fire. I figured out it would cost like 1/10 of a cent to charge the 18650 which lasts all day and then some.

What would be a good Nichia 219c/4000K light to try out? I’d like to order something

There have been a bunch of these but I’ve been using the S2+ and C8+ from Convoy. Their AliExpress shop has a lot of choices for emitter, color temperature, and power level.

great thanks!

XP-E2 Amber makes E21A 2000K R9050 look like a standard 2700K incandescent light bulb with perfect color rendering.

Beamshot: E21A 2000K R9050 vs XP-E2 Amber.

That’s beautiful! So the left side is the 2000K KR4?

I just got the 18350’s lightbringer recommended and I’m getting some very weird behavior. I’m using the 18350 tube and middle piece

As I tighten the cap, the light will flicker really fast and then go to max brightness. The tail cap button doesn’t seem to do anything. If I tighten all the way, i get the last “background light” (I.e. steady green) and the button still doesn’t do anything

Still works perfectly with a Samsung or Sony 18650. Either I’m assembling it wrong in 18350 mode or maybe i need to get different batteries

Thanks for any advice!

Yes, it’s a KR4 with E21A 2000K R9050.

Sounds like it is triggering Anduril factory reset because the button is pressed. I don’t know why that would happen.

Yeah I wonder if the 18350 is too long? It’s very tight to screw on. I tried putting the little metal ring with the lanyard hole in between the sections to see if that make any difference but no luck…

Still a bad a$$ light with the 18650 (:

Turns out it was user error (:

It seems like I was putting the black plastic “sleeve” in from the wrong end. I inserted it so the the “lip” is on the LED side of the 18350 tube and it’s working great. I also realized I was in muggle mode which was causing the strange behavior.

Which one do you like better? I have the 2000K but that XP-E2 Amber looks pretty sweet

I like both, but I definitely prefer the E21A 2000K R9080. It just looks great.

My next goal is to try all of these amber leds, to see which one I like best:
Osram KY CSLNM1.FY [phosphor-converted]
Cree XP-E2 PC Amber [phosphor-converted]
Cree XP-E2 Amber [monochromatic]
